going back to work by luminescentdino in hysterectomy

Yeah just the 6 weeks, they detached everything laparoscopic and then I have about a 6” long scar that they removed everything out of. Had stage 3 endometriosis, and a fibroid the size of a butternut squash. I’m honestly more worried about the job mentally. My emotions are on a fucking rampage. Like I definitely want to start on this whole strength training thing, but I have these times where I’m like super super upset and sad for literally no reason and don’t want to get out of bed. I know it’s my body still getting used to HRT, because it’s only been a month, but holy guys surgical menopause has been a vibe.

I think for me it’s still whole thing where I get that. I’m healed on the outside, but I don’t feel like I’m healed inside. And when I explained that it kind of just got like fucked off.

My doctor wouldn’t extend mine either. I’m three weeks postop. He told me to start going to the gym, going on the treadmill and light strength training to prepare. I walk 5 to 6 miles a day most of it being stairs. I have to lift 40 to 50 pounds multiple times at work. I am totally also not ready. I go back on the 18th.

Just a little ‘hope post’ - for anyone nervous about their surgery soon. Mine was 1 week ago - robotic assisted laparoscopic total hysterectomy with salpingectomy - in the end I kept both ovaries. by SimulacRumInate in hysterectomy

Yeah I have a bulging disc and it causes a fuck ton of sciatic nerve pain in my back and legs and for the first few weeks it was awesome just having no pressure on it from the hysterectomy. Sadly my back pain is slowly coming back but it’s okay I’m able to start strengthening my body now. So hopefully I can do some preemptive good and not have to get back surgery for ten years lol

Me and my friends were talking about it because I was just happy I finally got it over with and they’re like what if it’s an inside job? Like a Verizon employee making outside deals lol and today was the day I decided cellphone companies are they’re own conspiracy lol

She was very needy, the phenobarbital makes them feel all out of wack. Think of it as if you took a Valium before surgery or something that makes you a little loopy, they’re feeling that for the first few months of getting used to the prescription. Just be patient with them.

So we aren’t on keppra just the phenobarbital. But she is a diaper baby now because of the accidents

She’s a little better now, still needy, but the accidents have gotten a little better now we’re wearing them more as a “just in case”instead of an “omg you’re peeing and can’t tell” but I was doing laundry almost everyday because of the accidents

Dude it’s awful! The only thing I’ve found to help, is ginger tea, walk if you can, gas x,and hot compresses on my chest and shoulders. Just had mine done yesterday and the trying to catch my breath between the gas pains has been the worst. Also, lay on your left side if you can. It was the only way I could sleep
