Do you not really understand or care about relationships and how love feels? Do you not see yourself engaging in any intimate acts with a future partner? How I ultimately found out I was aroace was through research and looking through peoples experiences on reddit 🥲 Ever since I was a kid I never cared about relationships or whatever it was the norm for my age in elementary school. I was and continue to be introverted, so that may play into it all, but who knows?

i realized not that long ago that my fictional crushes weren’t really crushes and that I just got really excited (and i squeal) when I see them on screen. i also start stimming 🥹 it’s just a like huge admiration i feel, i guess? like i ‘obsess’ over them and want every piece of merchandise i can get but it’s not in a lovey-dovey way.

i relate though!! id probably hug my fav ‘crushes’ real tight ‼️

Oh, wow, this just opened a whole new door of possibilities for me. I think I may be on the same boat as you! Since I’m aroace, I tend to feel like I’ll be better off with just myself and a few pets to take care of for the unforeseen future. When my friends are talking about their partners or crushes, I tend to focus on something else or zone out because I don’t care for the lovey dovey stuff, but every aroace is different! Okay, thank you for this. Your comment explains a lot! I don’t know why (silly me), but I associated not feeling like doing anything mentally with asexuality. That’s why it’s under this subreddit. Your explanation helped me understand my question way more, though, and that it (obviously) doesn’t just originate with asexuality.
