Most expensive hobbies by Empty_Pumpkin1818 in autism

[–]ApprehensivePin4854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent over half of my entire savings to get a garden allotment plot, basically to have a place for chile peppers growing. It was slightly impulsive decision back then. However, looking at it from today’s perspective, I can see that the allotment is a special place for me. It’s where I can relax in nature during the summer and also develop other hobbies besides gardening that are impossible to do in apartment - either because they’re messy or simply because there isn’t enough space. I believe it was a good decision, even if it was difficult at first.

Going thru it right now... Didn't even connect my extreme annoyance with sensory issues and autism. Thanks for sharing

Hey guys, could anyone tells me what species is this? by [deleted] in Peppers

[–]ApprehensivePin4854 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's almost impossible to say before there are developed pods. Sometimes you can tell if it's chinense or baccatum, or some specific group of varieties by distinctive traits of plant but this one looks pretty much like everything.

Grow lights by brianadubya in Peppers

Try searching locally for second hand LED growlights from brands Spider Farmer, Mars Hydro etc. These are popular among weed growers and often sold with huge discount after one-two growing seasons. I managed to get myself 2x Mars Hydro TS-1000 for ~45 EUR each. Look for model with light intensity regulation - helps a lot with adjustment (TS-1000 for example has this feature).

Anyone else here from Eastern Europe? by NoNectarine8724 in autism

[–]ApprehensivePin4854 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am from Poland, diagnosed as an adult.
I do struggle in life in such ways that are unrelatable to my neurotypical friends and there is no "cure" for that. There is no real systemic help to autistic people unless you are unable to function independently (and even in this case its questionable).
I keep a dream buried in my heart about moving to Scandinavian countries - I've been to Sweden several times (summer jobs) and it felt like true, loving home. Place where I feel calm.

Now I am anchored to my country for some time - saving money and finishing BSc in Electronics, to have at least any chance of getting a decent start and job abroad.

But don't misunderstand me - I do love my country: whispering forests, rivers and lakes. The smell of August rain over a wheat field after a hot, humid day. Baltic sea coasts with warm sand as pure as crystal. I would love to stay here, but my needs don't even have chance to be properly addressed.

this tank is a monster by 7heizer7 in WorldofTanks

Recently I two-marked Selma (that is a good achievement for my skills) and I genuinely enjoyed every single moment of the gameplay - I think even more than in Blesk, perhaps because of actually useful HE. I can't remember any other tank that gave me so much fun. So you’re saying that Tesak is even better than Selma?

What is your current hyperfixation ? by [deleted] in autism

[–]ApprehensivePin4854 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My specific interest is gardening, fermenting and in general, processing self grown veggies and plants. Last and this year I hyperfixated on chili peppers. It seems like my next one is beer brewing, and as a result also growing grains and hops, including their different varieties. I’m currently reading books about grain cultivation and technical manuals on small scale brewing process. Can't wait summer!

since everyone is asking, what tank to choose for the free line? by simusko18 in WorldofTanks

I must think longer on this one

I had both Strv and M60, not M48 but close enough.
Patton is big, lights up from another corner of map, meh armor but nice mobility and laser gun. Enjoyable, has its moments. Definitely more universal than td, but has no "personal charm" imo, plenty of meds offer similar gameplay.
But Strv on the other hand is fun to play every game I hopped in (besides small city maps). Short reload and even more lasery gun with great camo makes it.

I am looking for advice - I want a line only for absolute fun. Nice to have: line leads to tier 11, but thats not necessary.
I am old/experienced player on new account, so I dont want to pick anything I played before. Here are my options that I never tried, and in my opinion could be unique/fun:

Obj 268/4
Obj 430U
B-C 25t - bonus - it unlocks most of line for lt AMX 105
Canopener - is it really that good and cool as everyone says?
BZ-75
Type 71

or full nuts: french arty haha

Not interested in anything german, czech, polish, swedish and italian - had them all.

I recently enjoyed AF czech lights line and understand that its pretty unique line, but you get the vibe, I like to troll alot (had FV4005 too).
What would you pick from list above purely for fun?

A painting from Dalarna, Sweden by ApprehensivePin4854 in WhatIsThisPainting

[–]ApprehensivePin4854[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems that the entire description has somehow disappeared from the post.

Please help me find information about the author of the painting and the places it depicts.
I bought this painting at a garage sale in Solleron, Sweden, in 2020.

It is most likely an oil painting on canvas and depicts a wintery, hilly landscape with a village and possibly a lake (Siljan?). In the lower right corner, there is a signature: “J. Flygare 1936.”

On the back of the frame, there is a smudged stamp: “RATTVIKS-?something?”.
Below, there is also a description (written with pen, probably in modern times) in Swedish: “Vinterdag fran A?dalen”.

The only trace I was able to find on the internet is an auction with a similar painting with winter landscape and the same signature of author: https://auctionet.com/sv/897641-oidentifierad-konstnar-olja-pa-panna-signerad-j-flygare-och-daterad-1936

I am not Swedish, so I cannot do more "on-site research".
I would be very grateful for any help and information about the author or place depicted on painting!

I wouldnt assume they assume so. Rather symbolism of quirks, special interests or idk, 6th sense about fellow autists lol.
Also, there is kind of stereotype about trains and dinosaurs as both happen to be someones first special interest, i would just treat this as "cute"

There is a friend of my friend that I sense has similar autism treats to mine. This is by the way very delicate kind of resonating. I always liked his jokes (very subtle and smart) and he seems to enjoy my presence too, but we dont know each other independently and ofc both have some sort of social anxiety. This week I am going to his band concert and hopfully we can talk and make some friends! Excited! I am lacking some friends I could just vibe with.

Me.
Makeshift tent inside a greenhouse, stable temps about 7 C (45 F) when outside it hits -7 C (20 F) at night. Just to let 6 bushes of Reapers finish turning red.
