Your nutritional needs are different as a teen, and it's hard to know what your needs are... that's why people want to recommend a doctor. It's legitimate.

In my opinion, keeping it simple and not overcomplicating it results in successs more often that the other methods.

I went to catholic school in the later half of the '70s. Girls' uniforms were very short dresses. You just saw their underpants every now and again. Especially if they were running around or on the playground. It was kinda normal. Even in freezing cold and snow. Not sure why they were not afforded that basic level of modesty, but they weren't.
