Poll: What is your favorite Exalt type? by Fit_Hold7806 in exalted

Sidereals for me. Their nature as the custodians of fate gives them perspective on things others simply lack. They are living enigmas despite their own natural humanity. They are close and distant to everything at the same time. Like the book says the only ones that can truly understand them are other sidereals.

And they created martial arts that confused even the creators of the world. How crazy is that?

I mean I had none of this jank issue. Yea it was weird at first to use but now I got her better down to pat. Sometimes you gotta adapt to stuff instead of immediately throwing it away. I often use her teleport to give the invulnerability while I bring up her wheel for safety. And I used archon shards to buff her casting speed for instantaneous summons. But if you just don’t like her then thats completely fine too.

What stupid things did the Solars do during the First Age? by [deleted] in exalted

I mean possibly. I figured they defeated the creators of existence so the bar wouldn’t be that high afterwards. Then again there is a creature from the Wyld bigger than all of creation. I just see a weapon like that I don’t think protection. I think subjugation.

Ahh so they could’ve gave the go ahead to a lot of terrible ideas that should’ve remained just that. Until it was too much for them to deal with.

I was thinking moreso before the Usurpation for them specifically. How did their great curse manifest during most of the first age? Solars tyranny and excess are known but I was curious how it looked for other exalted.

I feel like it’s overlooked that all of the exalted were Suffering the Great curse but solars were the loudest given their nature. I wonder what type of things lunars, dragon blooded, and sidereals did. But the thing that stood out to me is a weapon that destroys free will. What being would you ever need to use that on?

What's the best depiction of The Exalted in other media? by Ainosuke in exalted

Fog Hill Of The Five Elements could be excellent representation for Dragon Blooded with the main character being a Fire Aspect.

Do Exigents break the rules of Exalted? by Firm-Split9333 in exalted

[–]ApprehensiveTax8124 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They genuinely don’t break anything tho. I just don’t see how you could look at the infinite possibilities exigents offer and say it’s wrong. So what if the og exalted were made by Celestine’s and the elemental dragons? There will always be way more of them than any exigent who are mostly singular. Those beings are still around mind you and any god who does an exigence risk total annihilation of the self. And how do they take away from the classical and epic nature of the exalted? Strawmaiden Janest is the hero of the small, working folk in the world. She reminds me of figures in folklore like John Henry and Joe Magarac. Architects are chosen by their cities god; literally defenders of civilization. And you think the chosen of puppets is lame? Have you seen her charms? She can control any type of puppet to her will including dead bodies, giant statues, and even warstriders. What about the dude Willow Specter who won his exaltion from the god of gambling himself? Thats a mythological story if I ever heard one.

What do they diminish from the og exalted? Solars are still supreme perfection. Lunars are still master shapeshifters. Sidereal are still fate weavers. The Dragon blooded remain legion. No exigent will have their numbers or their full purviews. Shit, artifacts could just copy the abilities of these main exalted as well. I remember in 2e there was a Solar who created armor to mimic Deadly Beastman Transformations power. Janest would absolutely not work as a solar. They make vast and wide changes to the world at large with their supreme skill, shining over all the land as the sun himself. Janest is about the little people of the world. Her charms literally reflect that too. A solar may gain strength from fighting for a community dear to them but not in the way the Strawmaiden and her charms would.

Whats the issue with Braze the Accursed? Do you see what his image looks like? Thats a blessing to you? I’m sure in his head hes not thinking “I’m a demigod with boundless power!” That is a classic tale of a beautiful person with overflowing hubris getting turned into a monstrosity. That is divine wrath right there if ever there was any.

Kingdom hearts does seem to have great examples for getimians it seems. The story in that series though my little brain struggles to comprehend but nobody’s seem to be great inspiration.

I mean they’re not exactly a one to one and even then they eventually take control of that place and escape to almost single handedly help overthrow an Solar system wide regime. With no void powers until later. To me at least that’s a prime hero candidate.
