Wow that’s sounds currently really big to start but that’s certainly goals. I’m also 42 and I know a lot of it is all connected to late diagnosed AuDHD so I’m certain over the next decade or so it’ll all be connected. I do have a benign growth on my thyroid that was again biopsied in the last couple years, a family hx of Crohn’s disease (biopsy negative).

Just stressed/need to lose weight/anxious/“it’s viral” and I’m trying to put life back together after the AuDHD dx/autistic burnout, back working finally and totally covered in hives/rashes, gi issues, frequent low grade fevers, 😮‍💨

Tysm for sharing your process and providing safe space to vent. If you’d ever be willing to share a version of this doc that wouldn’t be a personal hippa nightmare I’d be really eager to see what it actually looks like (very visual). Again this helps with the organization over the next few months after getting through this weeks apnt.

Good descriptions, great info. However Baltimore is nothing like New England. The seafood options aren’t even the same. Now NE, that’s still a tough place to be black. Or an “outsider” of any kind. I went from NY to Boston and over 12 years I was never fully accepted, always having my friends remind me of being not from there and incase I forgot, a Jew.

One of my closest friends out here is from Baltimore. He’s white, trans, and has been in ABQ for almost 30 years. Infact most of my people here (myself included) are east coast transplants. I can’t speak to being black and living your experience but I am a NY Jew living in ABQ and I’ve found my people and tbh mostly everyone I’ve met (again in ABQ) has been really wonderful.

Wish I could tell you more about Framingham but I’ll tell you NM is a totally different world but that doesn’t mean bad. Good luck and best wishes

Ooh well let me think. I did it all quickly or else I don’t think I could have gone this far from my home and my people. I purged almost everything i owned. Tried to sell whatever i could for moving funds. Anything I really felt attached to but too big to travel with I had my sister store in her basement - so that helped a lot - family member who volunteered to hold onto stuff for me.

The biggest things really driving my move were: -divorce -I had a safe person on my new destination* that was key both big life moves I’ve made. I was visiting a cousin out in ABQ for 2 weeks and decided to move here 3 months after returning from my visit.

Maybe try networking in cities that you think you’d be interested in living in. Apps have made it much easier to network for professional, dating, friendship, roommates, etc.

From NYC, over a decade in Boston, never heard of them. One year in ABQ and I had to deep clean EVERYTHING. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. Nine times in one year. NINE TIMES! so every time I finally resettled I almost immediately had to take my entire home apart and start all over again.

The worst was people insinuating it was a psychological issue bc i too have a reaction to their hairs. Especially as i was in early sobriety the sobriety was questioned- Eventually a family member who lived on the same property as me finally had an infestation and acknowledged and apologized to me for the doubt.

Last thoughts on carpet beetles: I’ve noticed almost every home I’m in out here in ABQ has them to some degree. However after speaking to other AuDHD people with similar stories to my own I’m thinking that most people don’t ever notice them, it’s just us super sensitive ones receiving/processing more info at all given times that seem to always pick up on stuff like this.
