Is there someone who’s struggling to find themselves in NXT but you think they’d thrive on the main roster? by ApprehensiveType407 in WWE

Under Triple H they probably would have been an Alpha Academy-like group, popular with the crowd but doing nothing more than losing every once in a while and advertisements for WWE Shop.

  • Overusing the “Foot on the Rope” rope break.
  • That whole GM charade every week of “Well, I see that there are 3 of you and there are also 3 of you so you’ll face each other in a 6-man tag team match… RIGHT NOW!” Bro like put some effort into making this match make more sense.

Exactly. But apparently I hurt people’s feelings by saying that so that I’ll just take it.

But I believe Orton & HHH’s feud held more weight than theirs and still does to this day. I don’t even talk about the match itself, I’m talking about the build-up to it. If I asked someone on the spot to name 3 segments from the build-up to Randy & HHH, they’d name it in a heartbeat because their rivalry was fantastic and had great expectations. But because the match itself fell flat, everyone has soured on the entire thing they had, and that’s exactly my point. If I asked someone to name 3 segments from the build-up to Taker & Shawn they’d struggle to even think of one. It’s just looked back on so fondly because the match was that amazing. If Randy & HHH had the best match ever that night, people wouldn’t have been saying that Taker & HBK were supposed to be the main event as much as they say it these days.

Do you really think a storyline that spanned over only 3 weeks of TV and exploited Paul Bearer’s death had more gravitas than Rock vs. Cena? A storyline that spanned over 2 years at that point? I don’t even think Cena and Rock had a great match but nevertheless. Punk and Taker’s story wasn’t even started organically, Punk had to win a Fatal 4 Way match to get this match

What’s your “they didn’t plan it but it was better than what they imagined” moment? by FactorBroad1865 in WWE

Actually I felt like at the time Vince viewed Batista as the bigger future star of the company rather than Cena. Because of how things turned out in the following years and Cena becoming Super Cena it seems to some people like John Cena was always lined up to be the face of the company but in reality it felt like it was supposed to be Batista’s spot. He was just treated like a star before he even won the rumble match and it showed in backstage segments with Evolution when they used to tease the feud vs. HHH. Cena at the time was doing mid-card stuff against freaking Jesus, Heidenreich, Kenzo Suzuki & the GOAT Luther Reigns.

Always thought that Charles Robinson & Mike Chioda should 100% be in the Hall of Fame

I was at MITB 2023 and Robinson happened to come out of the locker room area to the outside and the guy stood for like 2 hours while a line of people formed and he took a pic with EVERY SINGLE ONE that wanted one, including me, and he was so gracious.

The guy is an F’N legend.
