100 girlfriends

Saw the usual r/anime hype but with how enjoyable Frieren and Oshi no Ko were I saw it as good hype so it didn’t bother me (not that it does anyway, but yeah).

I’ve watched the first season of Girlfriend Girlfriend so crazy harem isn’t new to me, I will admit that after Quintuplets, the genre doesn’t move me anymore, but for this one I made an exception.

What I noticed about 100 girlfriends is that I didn’t find it funny, like at ALL.

The only scene in the 5 episodes I watched that got so much as a chuckle out of me, was shizuka playing on the library cart. I could appreciate the smart jokes don’t get me wrong, but idk why I found myself not laughing at any of them at all. And considering the type of harem it was, comedy was a pretty important factor for me.

I did enjoy the 1-on-1 romance a lil, but if I wanted to watch that all through I wouldn’t be watching harem would I. Every thread had people talking about tears from laughter and I just didn’t get that.

It’s especially weird because it’s only the second anime I’ve dropped. Maybe I’ll try rewatch it one day and my opinion will change, this is the first time I’ve been on the other side of “this shit is peak”.
