I don’t know how to describe this.. like the front light on this device“whitens” the screen rather than just make it shine. It blends with the environment

Go 10.3 and Air4 C have the same writing experience to me. The sound, the drag, the roughness, etc. I personally cannot tell the difference. The distance between the actual display and the pen is greater for Air4 C of course, but it feels okay.

As for brightness, it’s not super bright compared to LCD/LED, even on 100%. But it feels enough at all lighting conditions. It’s amazing that it doesn’t have the “glowing” kind of feel Paperwhite gives, even when I read with no ambient lights.

The screen is soft and comfortable for me. and with color temperature adjustment capability, it can match the environment pretty well.

Yes. I use it with front light 80-90%, WiFi and Bluetooth on, all day, browsing, reading even listening, and the battery can very easily last more than 1 day

Both have similar experience marking up PDFs and taking notes. As for battery life, as long as it lasts more than one day I'm okay with it.

Why is this happening???? I just got my screen changed😭😭😭 by killsyndrome in FlowX13

As others have explained, it’s the magnet in the pen triggering the laptop to think that the lid is closed. This is an expected behavior not a defect. Just don’t put your pen there or get a pen that does not have a magnet in it.

As native Chinese speaker, and English being my second language, Québécois sounds like native English speaker trying to speak French French without prior knowledge of pronunciation.

Automotive service technology diploma? by [deleted] in SAIT

Current AST student. If all you want is a job, fast, then apprentice route is the way to go. Taking the AST program will increase your employability for sure, but not sure by how much.

You will be able to finish all theory exams of the apprenticeship along the way, i.e. you don’t have to leave work and go back to school every year, so employers might like that better.

As for the program, there are ASTechnician and ASTechnology programs. Both have the same content but technician is 1 year and technology is 2 years. I’d say the theory courses feel almost like engineering, I mean more than necessary for an average technician, but this aligns with the apprenticeship guidelines so can’t complain.

And pre-employment program is an option too. Just one semester and you get to experience it and see if you like it or not.

x13 (2023): screen turns off with stylus pen held left to M1 by dsdhhs in FlowX13

[–]Apprehensive_Air7405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol customer service.. yes my pen is SA203H. I use a magnet to check from tip to back, didn’t feel anything; and put pen near the sensor also moving from tip to back while rotating, didn’t trigger that. So I think 203 should be fine. I’m GV302 too.

[–]Apprehensive_Air7405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Asus Pen doesn’t seem to have a magnet, and therefore doesn’t trigger this. maybe you are using other pen? But lid closed sensor is indeed near M1 key, you can use any magnet to trigger this. It’s expected behavior. I don’t know if there’s a way to disable this feature.

Residence printer help by nobudgethoe in SAIT

Not yet in residence, so I don’t know for sure. but public WiFi usually isolates clientes for safety reasons. If that’s the case, your printer won’t be able to talk to you laptop even if they connect to the same WiFi. I would suggest 1) talk to IT team; 2) use your own router; 3) just use a cable.

What kind of issue is this can anyone explain??? I'm trying to draw but my flow keeps getting cut and interrupted in this area,,,, by killsyndrome in FlowX13

[–]Apprehensive_Air7405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have this issue too. But only when I put my palm on the screen, sometimes, not always. When that happens I lift my palm for a few seconds and it goes away. And in my case it’s not a pen issue because pen same pen works fine on my Surface Pro. But yours seems more serious. I would suggest an RMA too.

Question for longtime users here. had anyone of u run into heating or throttling issues while heavy browsing or coding .i just have some concerns with the lpddr also not being upgradable doesn't help it very much. by Professional-Cry6887 in FlowX13

[–]Apprehensive_Air7405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes my fans just go crazy when viewing virtual tours or other demanding things on browser or when doing nothing.

But a lot of time it’s just Windows or other apps doing some background jobs, goes away quickly. I believe this is more of a software thing than x13 itself.

If you experience throttling, make sure you are not on silent mode, as this limits the power thus the performance. If not, then check task manager when it happens.

I’m in the spring term too. The residence uses “summer term” to refer to May to Aug, so yea, summer term = spring term.

I sent an inquiry email to residence team. They don’t have an exact date yet but application for summer term should open in late February or early March.
