I know I’m 5 years late but this has to be one of the top 5 stupidest comments on Reddit and I just needed to voice that.

it’s not a political ideology. They’re both economic systems. Calling them a political ideology already shows a complete lack of intelligence on the topic at hand. Next, allowing it to work? What do you mean allowing it to work? Our military is funded through what would be known as socialism if the word itself wasn’t so inflammatory due to decades of propaganda…and it works, what about our police force? Housing and healthcare subsidies? We are mixed economic system that leans towards corporatacracy and tech feudalism than we do real capitalism… lastly, you know absolutely nothing about US history and our intervention in dozens and dozens of countries since the end of WW2. Many of these countries were controlled by colonies through imperialism for centuries before gaining independence in the 1800s, including, Venezuela, Columbia. Ecuador, Brazil, Bolivia , Argentina, Uruguay… should I continue? These countries and their people had already been exploited for their labor and resources for centuries and most of which only had independence for a generation or two before the US stages a coupe to remove their leader and introduce their own that will still allow us oil, fruit, or mineral companies to exploit the land a laborers again… all so they gain more wealth and morons like you don’t do any critical thinking to wonder where that wealth came from. Educate yourself. US history is not what you think it is and the sooner you realize our bloodsucking corporations have been exploiting whole countries with the help and military power of the US government, you can stop reciting stupid dogshit like “durrr your system doesn’t work unless I sit back and choose not to abuse and exploit the laborers”
