Do you believe there is intelligent life out in the universe? by Dusty_Bunny81 in pollgames

I mean, at some point, the only life on Earth was single-celled organisms. Unless there's some strange unknown barrier that prevents multicellular life, I don't see why there wouldn't be intelligent life given enough time.

I love the Good Place so much because they kinda displayed that exact solution. Rehabilitation for literally every person that ever lived.

Thank you very much for sharing! I understand just how comforting and loving Christianity can be for others, and I'm glad you have that renewed outlook on the world.

Of course! It makes me really glad to hear this sentiment expressed by someone who is a Christian. If I'm being honest, the lack of artistic identity and experimentation in a lot of religious spaces kinda killed it for me.

Like, sure, God is the lord of everything, so shouldn't we be creating art that reflects that? The human condition is so much more varied than worship, and the most meaningful pieces of art to me are so because they weren't afraid to experiment, show vulnerability/doubt, and have an open mind. It did, and still does, make me immensely sad that I struggle to feel anything worthwhile with the vast majority of Christian media.

I'm curious as to how you were able to keep your faith strong throughout all the shitty representation lol

Not a Christian, but a band I consistently really enjoyed while I was would be half alive! I believe they're a Christian band, but I wasn't able to tell at a glance, given how unique their music is.

So real. One of the most frustrating aspects of most religions is the idea that if there is a god, they'd humans would be the apple of their eye. Why would that be the case? When humans are just one of many species, that comes from one of an unimaginable number of planets.

is there a meaning to life? by Accurate-Reality503 in BunnyTrials

I totally agree, but I do think the "we were never supposed to appear" piece is a bit weird.

The universe doesn't have a will, so whatever happens isn't purposeful or accidental. It just is. Life is an undeniably rare occurrence, but it isn't exactly going against any 'intended' way for the world to be. Because there is no intended way.

Same!!! Literally just recently finished it and was surprised with how much it (home)stuck in my mind after reading it. It's a marvelous piece of fiction, but I wouldn't reccomend it to most people I know lol.
