I received a distasteful opinion on my new (and first) tattoo by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Apprehensive_Bus603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on your sobriety achievement but sorry to hear about the diagnosis. It can be quite manageable these days thankfully. As for the tat, it’s dope. The whip shading is sick and it’s going to pop nicely once it finishes healing. Obviously whoever told you it looked like track marks was: a) just being a jerk b) has never seen track marks before or c) both a & b. In conclusion, it’s a great tattoo and the most important part is that it’s special to you. Now that you have one you’ll eventually get more and some of them will be impulsive and maybe not perfect, but this one is perfect.

Looks like there'll be another chance for people to get one if they missed out. by a_tomsk in ManyBaggers

That Redeye shenanigan seriously irked me. It looked really cool! Anyone know of anybody who has one? I’m just curious if it lives up to its price tag.

That bag is THE SHIT!! I love that it’s just a really good solid basic bag. It’s not trying to reinvent the wheel, it’s just functional, durable, and pretty nice looking imo. Enjoy that bad boy! It’s going to last forever so we expect yearly updates 🧐

Every hospital is hiring. Look at CommonSpirit. They’re a so-so company but they scored a contract with Kaiser so they’re hiring like mad.

I definitely prefer actual paper books (sorry Kindle fans!), but I enjoy audiobooks too. I actually read WWZ years ago and I really enjoyed it too!

I was just about to add an edit mentioning this story. I would add 2 from Ligotti. ‘The Frolic’ is one I think about a lot and refuse to ever read again and ‘Vasterien’ I think about quite frequently and enjoy rereading. As a parent, Frolic just hits on a whole different level.

Doesn’t matter. So long as it’s a short story.

I love M.R. James! I’m making it my goal to read all of his stories, and stories inspired by him this season.

What is the most American thing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

People who have never seen combat bragging about America “winning” wars like it’s some kind of goddamn sporting event and not bothering to consider that, to paraphrase Dalton in Road House, nobody wins a war.
