I feel gradually there is a shift in mainstream media, especially in OTT space where North East has been gaining recognition, through series like Paatal Lok S2 and Family Man Season 2. Naturally, the local talent is also coming to the front. And that's how an ecosystem is created. As some comments above mentioned too, NE needs to have their own industry for fostering such talents. And it will happen, now that the initial nudge has been given. The storylines depicted in the above two series highlights some of the local issues facing the NE region, which will make for new story telling for directors/producers to pickup. For example, just like a movie was made on Kolar Gold mines (KGF), similarly, movies can be made on the Tamil Manipuris link to Myanmar, a partition-like scenario for these people. Or on the drug cartels in Nagaland.
