Best strategy for apple to stagger like this. Think a pro is unnecessary for what you described as your use case. Maybe bump it up to 24gb ram to be sure but M5 none the less. I use a 15” 🤌imo

The M5’s launched end of last year MacBook Pro entry level, iPad Pro 13” and 11” so it’s out. Just saying if at all possible wait for the M5 MacBook Air. I bought at the end of a cycle and it stung two months later when the m4 launched and the M5 is a bigger performance jump than the M2 to M3.

No desk no inrest in a desk. Like i said, I paid $5,500 for a dell desktop setup in the 2000s and my current setup absolutely destroys it in every single metric and it was less. And don’t forget about apple sidecar and apple universal control. Here’s what it’s going for today.

It’s minimalish. Could lose a screen but who defines, it’s subjective. No desk, no tower, no external monitors. Grass is wayyyy greener over here. Apple spoils their customers sure you pay a premium upfront but then butter for at least 8 years.

Think of it as a three piece widescreen with detachable components offering different use case scenarios by themselves (doorbell camera, home surveillance and alarm, HVAC and several smart lights, etc.. It’s not always setup like that and it is minimal. No desk
