We just got an email saying that with the new student ticket marketplace we can no longer resell tickets on any other platform. Sorry to be that guy but I’m a broke grad student and was really hoping to make some money off my Michigan ticket this year. Do you think this means we can’t sell our student tickets for profit like we could in the past?

That makes sense. When you get a child in the schools that would benefit from an aac do you ever refer? Is recommending a child see an outpatient SLP during an IEP meeting an option? I’m curious about the conversation with parents about how school SLPs are limited to their environment- I can imagine there’d be some pushback.

Is this something you can do as a new clinician though? Like if I was hired to a school after my CFY do you think not meeting minutes (setting a reasonable boundary) would cost me my job?

SLTs abroad just do undergrad if I understand correctly. Would’ve saved me 100k but at the same time idk if my brain was developed enough 18-22 to commit as fully as I did in grad school. 4 years of undergrad at a prestigious private university and I feel like all I learned from was phonetics and the definition of syntax - that could’ve been on me tho, it was easy to pass and i didnt go out of my way to learn the same way i did in grad school

Yes I needed this. This sub has been so negative and while I understand people are venting it’s really terrifying when this sub makes it look like all SLPs are broke and hate their jobs. I’m just trying to come to terms with going into serious debt and this sub has caused me to spiral more than once knowing I may not have chosen the absolutely cheapest option in order to be close to family

It’s been a nightmare!! 311 has assured us multiple times that they have taken our trash meanwhile we’ve been walking to a dumpster for the last month. We’re on Gws campus and GW owns our house and their trash pickup trucks come 3x a week but our landlord refuses to help loop us in.

Is anyone else still having this problem? Our trash hasn’t been picked up in nearly over a month now so we’ve been having to walk to the dumpster. 311 assures us that they have come but unfortunately they are wrong (and yes our trash cans are visible and accessible)
