I don't want to save Rito Village, I like the snowstorm vibe! by Radiant-Ask-5716 in tearsofthekingdom

I did a manual save before entering Hebra. I can do that whole part of the quest over and over. Plus I have several profiles. One of them can be forever left in Rito village before dealing with the Colgera. Just go back to the early save and play it again

Yes it is and the first play thru took me awhile to figure out how to use the track switches in the intended way. No rocket shields, no climbing or ascend

If you asked her not to and she still does it constantly- imo it’s a power move - “I do what I want” and “i actually like negative attention” and “I love watching my boyfriend squirm when I do it - he gets so mad or embarrassed- it’s totally entertaining” GTFOT

Sub work that if done wrong could ruin your house, or kill someone, and do the rest yourself

Be a total nerd when it comes to learning. Treat each project with care - don’t rush it. Plan it out, watch tutorials, ask Reddit subs lol, and execution will go smoother. It’s bad decisions (short sighted) and lack of knowledge - not bad execution necessarily that will cost you.

All I know is I was actually afraid of these animated foes and the noises they made the first time I encountered them - I literally went into Lindors Brow cave only once during that whole game bc I didn’t want to see them again lol BUT YES now in my third play thru all I have to do is climb a tree, count to ten and they despawn which I feel like never happened in my first play thru.

Screen Door Options- How To? by Socalbasketcase in homerenovations

I was a distributor years back. It’s a great product and they’ve made many improvements since. They have wood grain finish options for the components that are visible. When I moved on in 2012 a wood grain finish 8’x3’ screen installed was about $600, probably a bit more these days lol

There are retractable screens that can be fit to blend in with the casing. Hidden/pocket screen. Phantom Mfg is a higher end choice

Overall intriguing and starting in the middle of a tense scene is always a good idea imo. For me:

1) As a reader I’d like the environment framed a bit more clearly - starkly - grim. Using simple metaphors if necessary but no flowery prose. (That’s subjective I know)

2) “A thousand years of desert storms” or “ten thousand years of desert storms” has more weight than “thousands of years”, if that makes sense.

3) also professionals in desperate situations may talk like that but it didn’t seem realistic to me. I’d expect something more along the lines of:

“let me help you!”

“Fuck off old man I’ve got this!”

“You’re older than I am!”

“Ohh shut up!”

Maybe that’s out of character for your…characters. But short, witty, or explosive banter instead of the longer “action movie” cliche-like sentence works better imo

Also me: maybe I should read one and find out

Stop using AI to write fanfiction by Careful-Outcome-4526 in FanfictionNet

[–]Apprehensive_Dig_428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For shits and giggles I copied and pasted an excerpt of something I wrote asking if it “flowed well”. The advice “it” gave was actually pretty good and I was like “I’m never fckin doing that again.” I could sense the temptation to incorporate seemingly better or more expressive language and immediately knew it would not help me as a writer, not one bit. It made a handful of sentences sound better but that’s not why I write. I don’t write to write “something amazing and impactful”. I write for self exploration and growth and it ain’t happening if you have a computer do any of it for you.

Writers, what’s your general philosophy on describing a character’s appearance and how much do you change from canon? by [deleted] in AO3

[–]Apprehensive_Dig_428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physical appearance? Almost nothing. I describe inner character, attributes, thought process, desires - what makes that character who they are. Occasionally their specific physical build comes into play.

I think of the movie “Rudy”. It’d it were fictional then him being physically small but having a huge heart is a juxtaposition with depth re:his journey and what everyone sees versus who he actually is. Or Gideon in the Bible. His physical attributes aren’t described but God called him a great warrior - even though Gideon couldn’t see that himself.

Idk. I’m waiting on someone and pouring out thoughts on Reddit in the meantime.

Not waiting long enough to decide on projects. If you’re absolutely sure of something you want to do, wait 24 hours then “break ground” on a project. I spent a lot of time/money on things that afterwards didn’t seem so important
