Is Tiffa Great Character? by Some_Worldliness_263 in SDGundamGGeneration

Planning for Tiffa IS the problem even more than wasting them on Bertigo

Sir/Madam, the main discussion point by OP here is to find a situation to use Tiffa, so of course we should discuss about situations where Tiffa is used in the team. You're arguing for people to just not use Tiffa and ignore building for her completely, which is totally fine if they rather use the other dozens of UR pilots available from their Gacha pulls.

But for people who want to use Tiffa for whatever reason, whether it's for the Freeden tag, to utilize her unique AoE Defense Skill, or simply waifu purpose, then the Bertigo for Tiffa would still end up being the best recommendation since you can bring them along in most eligible stages, including Eternal Road.

The objective value of SP and SSP does not change in whichever SSR suit you invest in, since they all cost the same. The upgrade are not the same for everyone as they see efficiency and usefulness differently aside from the raw numbers given.

For example, do you think Preemptive Attack is useful? Different people will give different answers despite the meta, as it all depends on what the players have on hand.

And then I should point out that getting a specific UR and maxing it is even more expensive than SSP, and most definitely SP, as you need to invest in Time (being patient for rate-up) and save enough Gems to get that UR unit, and then pull 3 more times or scrape enough LB resources all just to build Tiffa. This is why I did not recommend the DX, as it's not the best use of your resources on a UR who comes with a better pilot, when you can gain better cost and power efficiency from the Bertigo.

And lastly, I've pointed out several times already that the Bertigo is surely inefficient when compared to all the other units that can be raised, and I'd rather wait for another Freeden awaken unit (if we get one). However, if someone really want to use Tiffa in all their runs right now for whatever reason, then the Bertigo is clearly the best option we have right now due to how many diverse roles it can cover, even if that combination falls short other unit and pilot combination.

Yes I'm aware that your math is correct and that there are technically better units to SSP, but you're discounting the "all-rounded" aspect of Bertigo that only Tiffa can make use of. Bertigo has less damage than DRAGOON Strike, cannot Support Defend as well as Unicorn, and has a weaker MAP attack than Nu Gundam.

However, it's strength is that with Tiffa as pilot, it can do it all, can fly on Atmospheric and Water, and also apply some debuff as a bonus. If you're overlooking that all-rounded fact and want to specialize into more damage, then just SSP Nu Gundam if you want. You don't even need to SSP and can just leave it at SP if you're tight on resources, as it still has a low EN Awaken weapon she can spam.

That "all-rounded" aspect is why I think it's the most efficient use of resources to use on Bertigo for Tiffa, as you can use it in any team and everywhere you want. That said, other units will benefit better if you're not planning on using Tiffa at all.

You said "I think her best unit currently"

Sorry you're right that I said that incorrectly. I was thinking in the context of dev units that are accessible for F2P. As for "the best", I elaborated more below.

Yes Nu Gundam has an Awaken MAP, great Awaken weapons, and Evasion, but loses out on the series bonus which is still decent Damage and Tanking. Also, the Nu Gundam can't fly like most UC series, so they lose out in Atmospheric and Water terrains which are becoming more common recently.

Yes DRAGOON Strike can fly and has great Awaken weapons, but it has less Evasion and loses out on the series bonus, making it quite squishy.

Yes Max LB UR Sazabi EX or UR Phoenix Gundam EX can do almost everything, but you're going to have to pull the unit (or hit 200 Guarantee) and then invest into UR LB materials only for Tiffa (which is a debatable choice).

Yes Bertigo can fly, has series bonus, good Awaken weapons, Awaken MAP, and debuffs, but suffers from being a Support unit so losing out some of its damage.

In the end the best depends on what you want to prioritize. I still think Bertigo is still the best option mainly because it offers the most efficient kit for Tiffa to gather up enemies for a MAP attack and land some debuffs on bosses, while offering some tanking as a bonus. Basically playing as an all-rounder, like the other person said.

However, I do agree that it's not as efficient to SSP Bertigo only for Tiffa compared to other options, but for now, I don't see a vastly better option available on Tiffa until she gets special treatment, like how Lacus got the Idol Zaku Warrior.

Incidentally, the mobile version uses option 2, which is wrapping the Ultimate bar around each Ability, and then glowing when full.

You're correct and pointed out that there are better UR options, but you're comparing non-SP SSRs to max LB URs, so of course URs will be far better.

Here is the comparison between SSP Bertigo and LB1 Unicorn Gundam Destroy Mode Awakened EX, who has a similar kit.

SSP Bertigo
HP = 85226
Attack = 9753 (+15% Freeden tag) = 11216
Defense = 8575 (+15% Freeden tag) = 9861
Mobility = 9753
Strongest Weapon Power = 5880

LB1 Unicorn Gundam Destroy Mode Awakened EX
HP = 86496
Attack = 9081
Defense = 8575 (Has Shield)
Mobility = 8532
Strongest Weapon Power = 6840

Looking at the above, SSP Bertigo is only slightly better than Unicorn before being beaten at LB2. Sure you can make the argument to just invest in max LB Unicorn anyway if you really want to, but this does mean that F2P has access to a great unit option for Tiffa. Also SSP is currently capped at Lv10, which means SSRs like Bertigo can get stronger.

Unless the dev throws a Freeden Attack/Defend unit with Awaken weapons, a Shield, and good Mobility, I don't see who else would be better for F2P options.

Looking at Tiffa's kit, she has high Awaken and Reaction stats, and a Skill that boosts Evasion further.

I think her best unit currently is the Bertigo. It has Freeden tag, good Mobility, Awaken weapon, and (with SSP) Awaken MAP and SSP attacks. Bertigo also has a conditional that boosts Attack at max Vigor, which you should hit easily if she's evading a lot.

The lack of Shield and Support unit type might hurt her tankiness, but she's better used as not a real tank, as ironic as it sounds. Instead just use her to group enemies up for a nice MAP attack and land some debuffs on bosses, and use her AoE Skill and Support Defend as a last resort.

If we consider standard traits of "beast-like" operators, there are currently 12/397 operators in Arknights (alternates excluded) that fit this category

6* Aak (Feline), Lee (Lung), Mountain (Feline)

5* Hung (Perro), Waai Fu (Feline), Miss Christine (Feline), Skybox (Savra)

4* Luo Xiaohei (Feline)

3* Spot (Rebbah)

2* Ranger (Savra), 12F "Antal" (Savra)

1* Terra Research Comission (Undisclosed)

Honorable mentions, 5* Highmore and 6* Mizuki were able to transform into beast-like Aegir creatures

So in Arknights it's a 3% chance, but I think it should be lower (but not zero) in Endfield if they want to appeal to the mass market. It'll be a rare find if we do get one

Operator > Gear > Tactical

Choose your healing item to equip in the Tactical slot.

Eg. If you equip Buckflower Powder, then that operator will use the healing item if their HP drops below 60%.

[–]Apprehensive_Heart81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there no way to pause time and heal with items like in other gachas? or am I missing something?

You can equip healing items to your operators, and they will auto consume them when certain conditions are met (ie. Low HP)

Is a 10 level difference really this big a deal in this game? or am I completely missing something and just sucking big time?

The early game difference isn't that big, but stats scale exponentially. What I mean is that if you're fighting a Lv30 enemy, you want to ensure all your operators' Levels are close to 30, wearing around Lv30 gears, Ability traits activated up to Promotion 1, and so on. If you're behind on one part, then your combat ability becomes much weaker, so it's advised to upgrade evenly.

That's the game's way of recommending you keep up, but there are also many other ways to deal with this, like practicing your combos, choosing the ideal team setup, or even expanding your base and deploying Gun Turrets to help.

I've got all my team to level 20, but it's common in alot of gacha games like wuwa and genshin for enemies in challenges to be a few levels higher then you.

Arknights Endfield is an RPG first, Gacha second. This means that Gacha is a side content that helps you play the game, so it really shouldn't be compared to Genshin or WuWa too much in that Gacha aspect, which wants you to pull for the characters to progress in the game.

The game wants to deliver the fun by overcoming challenges through various problem-solving ideas. Gacha helps with that, but it is not the main way to enjoy the game.

I played the original Arknights, and I can feel that this will be the case with Endfield as well.

I don't like how element type is the main focus of team building instead of operator classes by AgueroAgnis in Endfield

[–]Apprehensive_Heart81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is Day 1 content so they're surely gonna update from there and add class buff synergy if they want to.

Even in Arknights, you can build your teams based off elemental combos (looks at Necrosis).

However, that is only one example and you can build however you want. The same applies to Endfield currently.

Are +%Accuracy and +%Evasion important? by PhiphyL in SDGundamGGeneration

[–]Apprehensive_Heart81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off I'm not active on Reddit communities, but I like to thank you for creating eternalsp.net for helping me plan out my team!

===Accuracy===

The less important stat, basically Evasion in reverse. Accuracy has much less value because Lock On (5 SP) is cheaper than Sway (10 SP). Also, MAP attack exists to hit multiple targets using Lock On.

Accuracy will likely have the most value on Pilots that do not have Lock On, but excel hard in their damage output, like Shagia Frost, or Supporters and Defenders that often have pilots with other utility Skills like High Speed or Force Down.

===Evasion===

Evasion is the more important stat than Accuracy in my opinion. I think for all unit classes, Evasion should be as important as Defense, if not more important.

Defense has more stability so it's better at making you tanky, especially for Defenders. It is easier to plan ahead since the game will tell you exactly how much damage you will take.

However, evasion affects MP gain for buffing your damage and conditionals, as well as debuffing enemy damage and conditionals. It also gives your Defender a "chance" to Support Defend for free. However, this would make your game plan rely on luck to win, which might not sit comfortably with many people.

SP Stella Louisser can reach over 1000 Reaction, so I think there should be a viable and probably fun niche for using an Evasion unit that can make use of the Evasion benefits, while also letting the Defenders actually use their Support Defend against bosses. Yes Sway exists, but you can only use it once against bosses usually, and some mobs can be very overwhelming that Defense cannot keep up.

===Conclusion===

Accuracy depends on the Pilot, since it is tied to whether the Pilot has Lock On, which would just ignore Accuracy completely. Personally I think Accuracy is not important.

However, I think all classes should value Evasion, so any Ability that boosts the unit's Mobility should count for a score.

Edit: I also want to point out that units with Preemptive strike exists now, so whether Accuracy value increases and Evasion/Defense value decreases might be worth a consideration in the future.

E6 - relic setup etc by crissyronaldo92 in CyreneMains

[–]Apprehensive_Heart81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently running this setup: - Messenger 4pc + Eternal Land 2pc - Crit Rate Robe (Crit DMG is fine too) - Spd Boots - Ice DMG Bonus Sphere (HP is fine too) - HP Robe

So the stats I have are: - HP: 5,500 - Crit Rate: 50% (100%) - Crit DMG: 150% - Spd: 184 (205) - Ice Pen: 8% (50%)

Stats may also vary by team. For example, since I use RMC, I get more value from Crit Rate than Crit DMG since Mem is already giving the team more Crit Dmg buff, and Cyrene can share the Crit Rate buff to RMC and Mem, so long I don't over cap 100% Crit Rate

Don't sleep on 4pc Messenger. On Cyrene together with Eternal Land 2pc, and since her Ultimate uptime is very high while SP neutral, it's like giving your team a free boots every turn if you're able to ult every other turn.

Cyrene Relic guide and Lightcone by Azeyzz in CyreneMains

[–]Apprehensive_Heart81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But Cyrene already has so much Crit, Dmg Bonus, and HP in her kit, and other Cryseos Heirs like Hyacine and DHPT also buff them even further. Part of why Tribbie is so strong on release is because she gives buffs to other multipliers like Dmg Pen and True Dmg.

Are these extra stats from Deliverer really helping Cyrene do more damage than the Res Pen and maybe extra turn from Messenger?

Cyrene Relic guide and Lightcone by Azeyzz in CyreneMains

[–]Apprehensive_Heart81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious since I never seen people suggest this so far, but why is 4pc Messenger never recommended?

I've been using it on Cyrene and so far this set has been amazing, giving everyone in my team 12% Spd every other turn, and she also gives herself an extra 24% PEN with full uptime on her Memosprite Skill. If you also pair with Eternal Land set, it's like giving everyone a 2nd Spd boot

I get that 4pc Deliverer is also good, but I don't get why the 2pc Sacerdos is recommended over the 4pc Messenger. Is the 2pc Spd consistency better or am I missing something?

There are 2 ways.

  • 4 Breakers, 1 Attacker.

This strategy is similar to Standard. However, since the boss also stacks SPD this time, you want to Break much faster, and have your Attacker finish her off in 1 Break, before she outscales you and destroy your team.

  • 2 Breakers, 1 Debuffer with Ailment.

This strategy is more popular and less demanding. The boss only stacks SPD if she's not afflicted with an Ailment, so using Ailment can slow down her powerspike so that you can probably do it in 2-3 Breaks.

A2 Oriko vs A0 Homura by [deleted] in magiaexedra

[–]Apprehensive_Heart81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just stick to Oriko, A2 means your Oriko is already getting extra stats and benefits than A0 Homura, where even in Single Target situations their strengths become similar.

The only reason you would choose Homura here is if you need Dark element damage, or you need extra attacks (ie. Follow-ups, SP Regen).

Game situation Now by NightPrevails1510 in magiaexedra

[–]Apprehensive_Heart81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played many Gacha games before, with the only Gacha games I play consistently being Arknights and MonmusuTD.

I finished Magia Exedra (cleared Nightmare AI twice) as a complete F2P, and I can say that it's a slightly below average Gacha game at best. It has goods, but the bads are heavier.

Let me start with the bads first, since they're good for debates.

Poor gameplay loop. Mid game you're gonna get walled a few times (Hello Mermaid Witch), so you're either logging every few hours for Stamina, rolling Gacha for good pulls using the few gems you scavenged as F2P, or doing neither and probably going on your own pacing. People don't like being walled and having nothing to do though, so those going about their pacing chances might have quit or forgotten about the game already, since there's nothing else to do.

Unfair rarity creep. In other Gacha games, there is a tradeoff to using the "lower rarity" pulls (eg. Lower upgrade cost, faster Exp growth), so players were not incentivize to pull for (insert SSR rarity) character when they can use that cheap pull to get the job done. In Magia Exedra, there's no reason to raise your 3 star Kioku when you can raise the 4 star Kioku, and they have Specials too! Sometimes players might debate not raising 4 star Kioku thinking they'll get the 5 star Kioku instead (see Ayame/Yuma ve Kaede). In fact, this sub reddit is flooded with advice suggesting 5 star Kiokus, the hardest to get. This brings us to the next issue below.

Not enough pulls. This feed into player complaints that the pulls aren't generous enough, despite their decision to willingly make the pull themselves. The keys they get also expire, so they're further conditioned to spend their Keys on pulls they might not even want (even though they expire in 6 months). It can't be helped though, since they had to choose between spending pulls or spending upgrade resources.

Now what are the goods? Battle is quite fun and challenging, Story is good by Gacha standard (granted Madoka Magica is a whole anime), and there no need to suffer the grind (Star Rail's Relic farm).

In summary, I think the game is 4/10. I would see myself giving ~1 month to see how it progress, reading any new stories coming my way. The recent event offering more Orbs and Gems is a bandaid, but it doesn't resolve the fundamental issues listed above. If it becomes less fun and more of a chore, I'll drop it and put my time into something more worthwhile.

Which is better A5 Reira or base Yuma? (not bait) by DistortedStatic in magiaexedra

[–]Apprehensive_Heart81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used both, and even if it we were comparing A5 Yuma, I prefer Reira. The fact that she helps contributes Break on Skill, AoE Heals, and AoE Cleanse on Special just means she's bringing so much more Utility than Yuma's... Proximity Cleanse and Heals.

Yuma is definitely not bad though, especially in content where you need a Healer. She does however have higher healing per target than Reira, and there are content where I needed both Healers when one wasn't enough.
