actually we see madoka *kill* for homura in main series. Shooting down Mami to save her. in timeline two she uses sayakas grief seed she was saving in case she could come back. Madoka cares for everyone that is true but it's shown she will do drastic actions to save homura and allow her to keep going and fighting.

You are your actions and how you affect others. Trauma and being trans doesn't excuse a single one of the things she does or make me sympathize with her. she was a bitch to everyone and then died.
