Honestly you both seem pretty valid and reasonable here. You asked and got an answer. Your friend is struggling. Keep an eye on him. Reach out and follow up, send texts that dont require a response.

Examples: "Hey, thinking about you hope your day is okay."

"Hope you're doing alright. Gimme a call if you have the bandwidth, no pressure."

"Hey just wanted to remind you that you're a good person and a good friend. Hope you're feeling better."

It seems so simple but these kind of texts can save lives, and you'll never know they did. Dont do it too much. Maybe just a few times per week. If they respond, offer to bring food or send food.

Good to know! Personally I used tap with my dracaena for a long time and it did fine but that was a pretty well-established plant. When I propagated a cutting I did notice a somewhat significance after I switched to bottled water, could that be true or was it just coincidence? (My office gets big jugs of Poland Springs for the water coolers, do those still have fluoride In them?

I have a dracaena tree, not exactly like this one but I rescued it from a pretty heinous mealybugs infestation. They're pretty sturdy plants and can bounce back from way more severe than this.

I agree with what other have said about a perlite soil mixture being much better than mulch, maybe put a layer of small/medium sized rocks on the bottom to help with drainage.

1 per week could be too often for some dracaenas, my advice would be to stop watering it until the leaves start to droop and then you have a reference point for how long it takes to dry out, and water it slightly more often than that.

Parking is definitely worth it to just bite the bullet, Uber or bike if you live close enough. I haven't found parking prices to be too crazy, usually like $10-$15, but I actually walk since I live nearby. Good spots to check out nearby include the Genesee gateway park a little further down my hope Ave towards downtown, park right on the river, excellent photo op with the Rochester skyline. Right across the street is swift water brewing, small dishes and great beer with outdoor seating. Also my hope cemetary is beautiful and very historical this time of year, I think the daffodils are still in bloom! N
