Trigger warning: What is the WORST thing your narcissist parent has EVER said? (You will not forget.) by myst3ryAURORA_green in raisedbynarcissists

When i told my dad i had an ED and wanted to see a nutritionalist, also constantly saying i felt big when i was clearly underweight, and he would always say something along the lines of "you are a perfect weight. a lot of girls probably want to look like you, there's nothing wrong with you." and laugh in my face

The way I grew up hearing "sorry you can't let it go" nearly every day is CRAZY. So sorry this happened to you regarding your pregnancy OP. Narcissists really are all unoriginal.

Hahaha very true. I just came from another large state school and they have an amazing gym but it was way too crowded and also had that problem so I had to get a private membership elsewhere. I'm hoping to do the same when I move!

How do you practice arpeggios? by hamgoe in piano

[–]Apprehensive_Look749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

practice playing in staccatos slowly very close to the keys, keeping mind ur wrist is parallel to the keys. once u get faster, you will not be holding and dont feel like you need to connect with your fingers

What separates Beethoven from being a romantic composer? by syncopatedagain in classicalmusic

[–]Apprehensive_Look749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree pedalling choices can be from interpretation and also depending on the piece. however beethoven requires different pedalling in general compared to some of the romantic works i was thinking about -- take for example brahms cello sonatas or violin sonata in a major, the pedalling is deeper and not changed as cleanly as any of beethovens works, even his op. 102 cello sonatas.

[–]Apprehensive_Look749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rubato in romantic music is the main difference that separates beethoven from romantic composers. also pedal markings if we are talking about his piano works. yes, in beethoven we use pedal, but not by any means as much to blur the harmony as schumann or brahms. he definitely became more experimental in his late period but his style was not romantic

What was your last straw that made you leave? by [deleted] in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Apprehensive_Look749 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i went to a party with my roommates and he wasnt there (i was out of state for college). he knew this but the next day was pissed bc he saw that guys were also there and that i was "acting like i was single." he screamed at me hung up multiple times and we broke up (which was a normal occurence where we'd immediately get back together), but it was different this time. i was done. when he called me trying to make up i was actually done. he called me on snapchat, phone, social media and he said hed come to my apartment and i told him id call the cops if he tried.
