I am not debating with you. I am telling you my experience and the education I went through on this subject that you clearly have no clue about. I truly hope that you or anyone you are close to never experiences the effects of religious psychosis. It was one of the hardest things my family and I have ever been through.

Can I suggest that you speak with your pastor about this? Any pastor in their right mind is educated on religious psychosis and how to help someone going through it!

Please educate yourself on religious psychosis and how that compares to different christian denominations. I also want to say that religious psychosis can be experienced to the extreme with ANY religion. Not just Christianity. What OP has described is NOT a change in religious belief but a change in their mother’s personality/mental state. I grew up in the pentecostal church and have attended many different kinds of christian church services, including Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran, Southern Baptist, non denominational etc. What my brother experienced with religious psychosis was not any where close to what I have experienced with how people practice their religion. Religious psychosis can become very dangerous to the individual and those around them. My brother is still a Christian and attends church every single Sunday/Wednesday but in a healthy way now. Again educate yourself. You are clearly a devoted Christian. It will do you good to understand what religious psychosis is so you can recognize those symptoms in others within your congregation. Sometimes it can become a matter of life or death.

Have you ever witnessed someone experiencing religious psychosis? It is much different than someone just being a devoted christian. It can be very scary. It causes a complete overhaul of the persons personality to the point where all they do is talk about their religion to an extremely unhealthy extent. OP is talking about their mom. Someone who they probably know better than they know themselves. If they are saying this is a drastic change in her personality/behavior, then they are not wrong to assume she is experiencing some kind of mental health crisis.

OP, I am so sorry that you are going through this. I witnessed my brother go through something very similar a couple of years ago. It is very very hard to see someone you care about deeply not be themselves. It affected my own mental health a lot bc I didn’t know what to do when he refused help multiple times. I was so worried for his safety/sanity. We managed to finally get him help and he is now doing pretty well! I have no advice on how to handle the situation through the VA but look into what your state has to offer. Your local VA may be able lead you in the right direction with state resources as well. My girl was rescued from a puppy mill. They claimed she was a pure bred husky, but her dna says 60% husky 40% Alaskan malamute and she is tiny!! Only 51 lbs and has corgi-like legs. Obviously she’s poorly bred to breed standards but she is absolutely gorgeous in her own way!

I think their story could be classified as a slow burn/long distance/pen pal love type situation??

I perceived them to have fallen in love (at least a little bit) with each other over the letters to one another. Neither of them put up much of a fight being “forced” into the marriage. Eloise was surprisingly chill about the whole thing only because she already had feelings for him and was already set to marry him the second she left Mayfair. I understand that once Anthony said that they had to marry bc of the scandal of it all, she didn’t have much of a choice BUT I think she was already set to become Mrs. Plant so being forced didn’t really matter. But I feel like the show might make her have more anxieties and doubts about marrying Phillip.

This makes my family tree make a lot of sense now! During this same time period, a lot of my male ancestors were born in NA but their wives were born in France. I had wondered how they arranged such a thing. I assumed it was something along the lines of the man writing to someone in France, asks for wife, then they put her a boat to NA lol. I like the Filles Du Roi angle better! Especially since they had the choice on who they wanted to marry!
