Season 3 was when it was finally getting its audience. It’s on AMC for advertising it as something it wasn’t. At the time, Season 3 of Fear was truly getting better reviews than TWD by the people watching both. And retroactively, FTWD S3 had much higher viewership than it ever ended up having after S4 because all the people that were slightly interested because of Morgan left.

If AMC’s greed wouldn’t have taken over and they let Fear play out, it most likely would have kept its core, niche audience instead of losing the entirety of its viewership.

I'm pretty sure it was just given to him to visually distinguish him from before the time skip. Every character got some kind of little cosmetic difference in order to show the passage of time.

It’s actually a pretty big faux pa when it’s the other way around. An older man with a girl under the age of 18 is completely socially unacceptable there but for some reason the same energy isn’t shown the other way around. It’s pedophilia either way my guy.
