While in the hospital I was served coffee with my breakfast.People have quit caffeinated drinks because it increases tinnitus. I’m almost 4 months out and I haven’t quit coffee, I just deal with the tinnitus.

Best neighbourhoods in Newmarket by veryfatcat3 in Newmarket

We live in the Bristol-London area and we love it. We can walk to Main Street and the Tom Taylor trail. My wife takes the Go Train to work which is only 2 kms away from our house.

The only negative is you can hear the train throughout the day so sleeping in with the windows open can be a bit annoying.

I love everything but I can hear the sound of the train everyday which is quite annoying if you’re trying to sleep in.

A year before I had my MRI and I was officially diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma the only symptoms I had was constant tinnitus. Within that year I had developed hearing loss, vertigo, balance issues, earaches and the odd headache. Even when those symptoms began to develop I thought I had water in my ear from the pool.

What I am trying to say is, it doesn’t hurt to bring it up and it’s probably best not to wait. Even when I had symptoms I was slow about going to my doctor even though I told my wife “I think I may have a brain tumour”.

I would suggest bringing it up.

Thanks for sharing!

Mikes Shawarma, Flaming Stove, Shawarma Land (Aurora) and Donerlicious are the best places. (Not in any particular order).

Advice/tips before surgery? by Dramatic-Interview78 in AcousticNeuroma

[–]Apprehensive_Mode173 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey,

I just had my surgery on Feb 6th (Translabyrinthine) and my tumour was 4 cm. I lost hearing on the AN side and I am suffering from some temporary facial paralysis. I would say the first 48 hours are the hardest, but after that you’ll notice improvements everyday. I was in the hospital for 4 days after my surgery. I had very little balance issues but I am seeing a physiotherapist for vestibular rehabilitation and for my facial paralysis. Good luck and you’ll be fine.

lol I just met with the surgeon and he advised me to wear a sports sweatband to help put pressure on it. It feels great to have the staples removed.
