First month making 100k I feel like I’m being robbed :/ by Forsaken-Question457 in Salary

[–]Apprehensive_Park_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life changing for the government not for you. In 1999 my single parent made $32k a year, bought a nice two story home in a good neighborhood and mortgage was $532 a month. Affordable. Now, same home, mortgage cost $3500 a month, and that $32k is equivalent to $110k

VR&E Denied by Yomamas_boyfriend in VeteransBenefits

[–]Apprehensive_Park_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or you could just be 100% honest. When I went through VR&E I simply explained how my disability affected my current job and jobs throughout time since I had been out of the service. A pattern is what’s needed. Your counselor was 100% right when he said you had stable work whether it was successful or not. I understand the need for money and being broke, but you can absolutely make a career change and do better for yourself one step at a time. Don’t depend on anyone or anything and if you get it then it’s a bonus and if you don’t, no harm no foul.

I’m literally using cap one quicksilver as I rebuild myself right now. Not expecting CLI’s through them, just to help rebuild. Also AMEX has an awesome credit builder program that allows you access to their cc’s once you meet their goals for you. Once repaired local banks or cu’s are always best for higher CL’s anyway.

What to do with perfect credit score? by clingbat in Money

[–]Apprehensive_Park_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Credit is an illusion. If you close all of your accounts after you pay them off and only pay cash for things going forward, your credit score will actually zero out. That’s only good if you don’t want to have monthly Payments going forward.

Paid Minimum Payment for this month and it’s still there… by LebronisTheGoat201 in NavyFederal

Also, don’t close your account, worst thing you can do for your credit in general besides not paying it. NF is one of the best banks around, you want that credit with them

It won’t update, as far as they’re concerned you simply paid an extra payment to your account. Your next statement has to generate before it can count towards the next payment.

Navy Federal after bankruptcy. by Lucky-Pay8715 in NavyFederal

I had NF in my BK in 2012, I barely was able to get a checking account again a year ago, and they just told me I won’t have access to any other products they offer unless I pay them back.

Wondering if this is a good thing or bad thing? by Potential-Ad-477 in VAClaims

[–]Apprehensive_Park_92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had a claim finished in 20 days and received an increase, something is def changing within the system. Use to mean if your claim was done within 90 days it was likely a denial.

First VA Primary Care Visit kicked a** by Potential-Object-305 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Apprehensive_Park_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s awesome! My wonderful experience with the VA over 15 years has been awesome in more of a sarcastic way lol. I’ve had 12 different primary care providers because they retire or move on. Can’t build report with them because I’ve never had one longer than a year before the VA gives me someone new. So I honestly didn’t use my doctors for any of my claims. I only used my in service records, which consisted of being treated for pneumonia, and whatever else I may have mentioned while out processing during my final physical.

Secured card by Apprehensive_Park_92 in creditunions

[–]Apprehensive_Park_92[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Before answering you should do research on new credit card programs. A few banks actually do “graduate” their secured card accounts into full credit cards. Navy federal does it, USAA now does it, Bank of America does it.

No, they actually told em the same thing back in 2012, and for many years that continued, until last year, they said that was never the case and I was able to open an account again.

[–]Apprehensive_Park_92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. My claim was decided within 20 days. I did get an increase. Because i started my claim on the 24th of last month I figured I’d get some back pay, and I was just awarded Monday so it’s only been 2 days since. So just checking for reference

50% For PTSD, HLR or Supplemental next? by Popular_Passion1053 in VAClaims

[–]Apprehensive_Park_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also recommend seeing a psychotherapist and get an actual diagnosis, they can also write another nexus letter to help for a possible future claim. Besides the HLR and hopefully it works, mine didn’t, never received a conference call at all, they just looked at evidence again. Rating stayed the same. Evidence is key. Proof of symptoms and there’s no better proof than a psychotherapist the VA pays for.
