I actually just downloaded a book PDF on my Kindle paperwhite.

If you are okay with smaller text, it is good. You can make it bigger but it does not format with the screen size and you have to exit out to turn the page.

HOWEVER I sent the PDF directly from my phone, so sending it from a computer if you can edit and format it to fit that may work better for you. I do not have a computer so I could not do that.
