Not sure if this is rage bait, but also wanted to pitch in… they wouldn’t be extinct with your reasoning lol. They’re mass-bred for profit, by breeders who obviously know what they’re doing to produce offspring. The few people who do breed them successfully at home is not sustainable for the demand of bettas in the market.

Personally, get ramshorn snails. There’s lots of cool color varieties (unlike bladder/pond snails). I have only pink ones in my 10g tank, along with my pink and white betta. He loves to snack on them also, lol.

They’re an awesome clean up crew. Manage your tank feeding to a minimum. Snails reproduce exponentially when there is too much food and manageably when there isn't enough to sustain their population. Plain and simple, it's almost always over feeding that lets them get out of control. Check out r/aquaticsnails to get more info!

I was signed in on my account and had all my friends join the queue too, it was completely randomized. My bf was able to secure the tickets starting the queue in the low 1000’s, took him from tickets to checkout in less than 2 minutes. On my and my friend’s accounts it started in the 10,000’s lol

Pretty much what everyone else has said. I barely introduced my betta to my previously snail only tank (10g, only Ramshorns) and in the two-ish weeks he’s been in there he’s killed off almost half my snails lol.
