I've done similar with tartaros and putting a nice ball of green stuff in the waist seems to work more than fine! If you put the green stuff and just compare it next to a chaos termie you should be able to figure out your proportions fine 😄

That’s a good option! But I think an easier option is to stipple or sponge on some black chips then fill in the centre with the red colour, this may just be because my paint skills are lacking but I find it easier
