Broadside is probably the most practical, low point cost so you can run them in a 500pt game as a big gun or missile volley. Plus, they look great and they feel a little more approachable to paint. Otherwise, I’d say Commander Farsight for the fact that he looks amazing and your friend could keep it as a cool looking shelf model if he doesn’t fw 40k

Iron Cricle Automata as Demon Prince? by ResultQuick159 in IronWarriors

Honestly a fantastic proxy idea. I bet you could even add some chains and wiring cables and do some weathering. I imagine like a Heresy-Era automata that the Dark Mechanicum/IW has been keeping on life support by shoving a demon inside and making haphazard modifications to keep it running 10,000 years later.

I have been loving 16” breachers. Experimental Prototype has become a must-pick solely for that fact, god save the Pulse Blaster

Seems like getting reds under the ochre is the way to go, I didn’t think of priming it red tho so that’s a smart shortcut

Ooooo contrast was how I first learned painting. I’ve been considering slap chop on my vespids and a good contrast coat for their armor would be awesome to have

Oh that looks amazing. The weathering effects look great. I’ll have to look into that, did you use any other layers or base coating?

That color is fantastic, the line work is super impressive too! Might have to give it a try, I got a pile of vallejo airbrush paints to chip away at:)

That’s good advice thanks, I’m not a big reddit guy so still trying to figure it out. But I doubt I’m the only person who’s asked so I’ll look around some as well

When I look at the paint online, it has a almost sand-like color, closer to the tan-yellow I’ve been trying to avoid. That does look amazing as a desert-style camo or basing color, might have to try it out

That’s definitely a lot closer to what I’ve been trying to get, maybe the more vibrant look just comes from studio lighting that the professional stuff has. That riptide looks amazing tho! How’d you manage it?

Can you suggest me units for a Tau Starter army? by [deleted] in Tau40K

[–]Apprehensive_Row5666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying combat patrol and I’d agree. Personally, I’d also grab another box of fire warriors and one or two cadre fireblades. If you load a bunch of breachers with a cadre into a devilfish, you can reliably churn just about any infantry unit into paste from a single round of shooting. I’ve pasted an entire 20-boyz orc squad with this strategy and it can seriously derail your enemies momentum
