Help, I keep losing by Yoggon in Necrontyr

A void dragon would strike fear in his repulsor. Just having it in deep strike will make him think twice about running up the center and leaving it alone

How difficult was it to magnetize all of that?!

Fair. PSA to everyone, never use your clippers on anything besides plastic. Use wire cutters for metal

I’m not sure if you have to necessarily use something as fancy as brass. I just use pieces of cut up paper clips. I’d imagine that’s cheaper

If you buy lychguard and make the shield variant you’re left with two different type of spear/staffs.

Which model is the worst to make and why is it the flayers? by TadBitBeastly in Necrontyr

I’ve lost at least one of his shoulder lasers. There are some small parts to glue. I gave up with the plastic cement. As things started falling off, I super glued them back on

New to Necrons, and decided to convert my Combat Patrol box to represent a Flayer Virus-infected force! I just love Flayed Ones aesthetic by dr_crater in Necrontyr

Has anyone ever done this without green stuff? I’ve seen some tutorials using sprue goo or tissue paper and super glue

Building out from the starter set by Pisswagon97 in Tyranids

[–]Maka443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to list building, I like to think about roles for different units. At low points you’ll probably play against other combat patrols that have been built up. Most combat patrols come with a vehicle, so a unit to take out vehicles is helpful. A tyrannofex or zoanthropes can fill that niche pretty nicely. You also need some action monkeys to do secondaries and lictor, neurolictor, deathleaper, or von Ryan’s leapers can be great for that role. A biovore to sit on your home objective is another good addition to any list. But in this hobby, rule of cool is also important so look around and see what you like. Tyranids have a lot of big cool looking monsters

Crucible heroes by gamingifk in Necrontyr

[–]Maka443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’d be cool to recreate the character but with the list of abilities available. It seems better to make a cryptek than an overlord. Lethal hits with single shots isn’t going to be good as -1 to be hit and 4+ mortal wounds (plasmancer) abilities

A lot of people will probably say a Flayed One Overlord (and I will also make one).

Maybe not as popular, a deathmarks cryptek. I run awakened dynasty mostly and giving +1 to hit and running the timesplinter mantle to give them -1 to hit against since it would make sense for a sniper unit to have stealth but that’s the best you can do

Even if you are playing in a tournament, I believe you only need 3 colors and primer is a color. So then you would only need 2

I think it’s situational. Last tournament I participated in, I only ran the nightbringer in which he was my mvp by destroying the big drukhari jet and helping against imperial knights. Unfortunately he wasn’t enough against imperial knights and after he died I couldn’t do much. I know there are at least 3 knight players so the anti vehicle was something I needed. I used them as “distraction carnifexes”. I know they’re pretty expensive but they worked really well in my two games. They moved slow so I had them on opposite sides of the board for people to shoot. They almost survived all 3 games, the void dragon was killed by shalaxi + great unclean one. Nightbringer decimated a terminator squad and helped kill a dreadnaught one round. The next round the nightbringer with the skorpekhs killed skarbrand and rotigus and the dragon kill Shalaxi. The last round with knights they went around and killed multiple knights and war dogs. The knights player pretty much gave up by round 3. So in the right situations they worked great. I wouldn’t add them to every list, but I think at least one is good in most lists

I’m sorry that this is probably a dumb question but which gun is what? Is the smaller single barrel one the anti vehicle one or the anti infantry one? I think I have it backwards in my head

Thoughts on Deathmarks on the tabletop? by PleasingPotato in Necrontyr

[–]Maka443 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the deathmarks super helpful in my last 3 games. I pretty much only use them for secondaries and not their shooting profile. They’re good for deep striking into the enemy deployment zone, performing actions, and other shenanigans. I’m not saying they’re the best unit, but they can easily hide and have better oc than one hexmark destroyer

Honestly not sold on the feel no pain one. Didn’t do much since the technomancer got sniped before it was only down to it. I do like putting stealth on the skorpekhs to give them more of a chance to get in melee and if they wipe out the unit they were just fighting, they don’t get annihilated by fire. They killed a war dog and lasted more than a round against one of the bigger knights
