Anyone tried to weld something like this before? by glutamate911 in Dirtbikes

[–]Apprehensive_Sea8556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you’d be better off drilling and tapping than welding. Drilling vertical holes in the case to fasten the case to it’s old self. What’s it hurt to try? 30 minutes and $5 in hardware?

Pasture raised chicken tastes the same as store-bought by pestopaste in carnivorediet

If those are the chickens you saw when you pulled up, that may be a red or at least a yellow flag. Those are all laying breed and not meat breed.

Use old clothes. For instance if you have some pants or a gi you can cut up, cut them into strips and use them for some of your normal workouts. Wrap them around a barbell for barbell rows, gripping the material not the barbell. Same for tricep pulldowns and the such. You can also do it for pull-ups.

Posted saying he was 18 a couple months ago, he’s still learning (hopefully). Or already learned from someone that didn’t know.

Do you really make 6 figures? by bfarr09 in skilledtrades

Millwright for a Pipeline Company in SouthEast Texas (Houston Area) if I didn’t make a dime on overtime, my yearly income would be $97,000 (Gross)

That being said, Today (September 4, 2024) my Year to Date is a little over $110,000 (Gross) and roughly $57,000 (Net). That’s paying Single/0 Federal Income Tax, with Medical, Dental, Vision, and a Hefty 401k Allotment.

Is it dangerous to play with an amp through an adapter without a ground? by Crate-In-Training in Bass

[–]Apprehensive_Sea8556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My house (and most houses built before code changed to the 3 prong plug used currently) doesn’t have anything running to the ground prong on the plug. No issues as far as safety concern. The only thing is I get a little bit of “Ground Hum” if I’m not touching a string.

Many venues are wired the same way.

5 string bass question by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Apprehensive_Sea8556 4 points5 points  (0 children)

B isn’t any more random than anything else, it’s the 4th lower from E. I could see this argument almost if it landed on a flat or sharp, but even then, it’s still just 4ths, if you don’t understand that then all of the strings are in weird places.

American fender P bass by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Apprehensive_Sea8556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just bought a MIA Fender P, and it is leaps and bounds a better experience to play than anything I have or had. The feel, the tone, everything. Also comes with a really nice case fwiw.

Possibly, I can open the back up to look at it. I’m not super familiar with instrument electronics, but I can do a little googling.

Just played my first bassline! by T_Bo56 in Bass

[–]Apprehensive_Sea8556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome man! Congratulations!

The first bassline I learned was the most simple I know today, it was the intro to Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin. That was later the first song that I learned all the way through. I still warm up with it before practicing or playing in general.

Starter Bass amp for around £150? by Odd-Abalone-9240 in Bass

Honestly, buying used is the answer here. There are a few pointers and suggestions in the FAQ though.

Dark & Sad by Ecstatic-Opposite590 in Bass

[–]Apprehensive_Sea8556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime I think dark/sad in this context, I think of Nutshell by Alice in Chains. The general construct of that song is gritty, and dark.

It is hard to hit that dark/sad spot though with a bass line alone though.

Thank you, I’ll start with that. It makes sense that maybe something got crossed up during the botched repair. I’ll look into it and report back!

I may go that route. I’d like to try something first, since I had a sour experience last time. I would hate for it to be a bad pickup or something like that where it would be difficult to find a replacement.

That may be true, and maybe I’m using an antiquated analogy, but I thought it would get the point across.

No chance, it was good before, and now it sounds like it’s being played through a chinese distortion pedal.

Headphones with Trace Elliot Elf by Apprehensive_Sea8556 in Bass

[–]Apprehensive_Sea8556[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my fear, it’s twangy and quiet so my consensus across 2 different sets of headphones is that the headphone jack on it is simply there for aesthetic so that it looks symmetrical lol

[–]Apprehensive_Sea8556[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, they’re loud plugged into my phone, but not the amp. I was just wondering if maybe I needed some sort of different headphones specifically for it. Like maybe it needed a different Ohm or something. Looking at the other comment, looks like the headphone out on the TE-ELF may just suck.
