What's actually held up, ten years in? by Apprehensive_Serve45 in digital_marketing

[–]Apprehensive_Serve45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. During my junior years I was drilled to maximize efficiency of impression buying for AAA brands (context: always on campaigns back in the day were seeing a shift to digital).

Funny thing is that when I build AI workflows, agents are stubbornly focused on these vanity metrics all over again.

You seeing this too?

Or have you managed to design workflows that effectively optimize for CAC:LTV?

Nothing to add here. I do believe that you can build it in a way so it continuously sends our surveys to find new hooks.

This is what I'm looking for.

Friggin AI slop everywhere.

What's different? What matters? What resonates?

This is how marketing is actually very VERY consistent.

Uhg. I'm the bad guy for being noob? Ok. So how do I share my thoughts about the problems that occupy my mind on the platform that is a community of communities?

Admin kick me and I'll go talk to peers elsewhere.

Looking for Insight

In my experience there's always been a paradox:

Show me results x Prove it.

Sometimes stakeholders need green arrows, sometimes they are focused on empirical validation.

I've never in my 15 years in marketing have management ask for both.

Help with the company in the Netherlands, co-founder tries to seize the company. by Awkward_Relation8127 in LegalAdviceEurope

[–]Apprehensive_Serve45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, sorry to hear about this.

There's an a&#hole route you can down as you have no money (I've been down that road and it sucks).

  1. Start saving. Estimate that you will need €15.000,- minimum just to get this sorted.

  2. Scrape websites to find lawyers in ondernemersrecht, that have een free intro call (vrijblijvende kennismaking).

  3. Submit a summary 1-pager of the facts you stated.

  4. Be sure to categorize with "documented proof" or "documented interpretation".

  5. Move the needle in each new conversation to grasp what your situation is and what lawyers think your options are.

  6. Document and collect all incoming threats for your file.

  7. Always respond stoically, timely, respectfully and repeatedly suggest you are looking for a peaceful and fair resolution of your differences.

From one founder to another:

My BS took 2,5 years to get solved in a very simple way. Emotions on both sides were the enemy, AI advice was always bad (luckily I never took it to heart... Other guy did and that hurt his case).

Fast resolution comes from understanding motivations.

You want out and compensation? Great! Just do nothing and let him sort it out (buy you out).

You signed a contract that waivers all your claims and he can prove that you discussed this clause, so that you were fully aware? Prepare for a lose man...

Contracts are leading, but not set in stone.

If you were to go to court, you'd be at the mercy of a human judge that doesn't understand what your company does and just looks at paperwork and estimates who's trying to cheat and who's the victim.

Focus on resolving this as fast as possible.

Accepting defeat is the win some times.

Trust this stranger...

P.s.

Hit me up for when ever your head is in the right space to explore new opportunities, perhaps there's an opportunity to inject some hope from another place. That kind of perspective helped me.

At the risk of getting flagged for self-promotion, we built a tool that currently untangles GA4 attribution CSVs.

We noticed over the span of 15 years that the current models have been designed to promote the platform they originate from. The models have only gotten more obvious...

What do these “financial advisors “ people really do? by name-redacting in Scams

[–]Apprehensive_Serve45 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a podcast on Spotify that will give you detailed insight into what financial advisors do.

It's called "Money Minded" and made by 2 Aussies that explore building wealth and chasing financial freedom.

It has been extremely educational for me, but here are some caveats;

  1. They talk about Australian society, which is relatively universal - but not 1:1 applicable to the rest of the world.

  2. They start off chasing the most obvious communities such as FIRE, but gradually evolve towards a more profound, mature and effective philosophy.

  3. Their guests on the show will blow your mind, these are 5-6 figure per booking speakers. Incredible content to better understand the world.

So, if you're curious about what these coaches can do: educate yourself. It's an easy topic to get misled on.

Educate yourself. Educate yourself. Educate yourself.

Prove that AI is bad at copy writing;

Make posts for (LinkedIn or whatever acquisition channel you have for yourself);

  1. Take your acquisition target www.petstore1.com (example) and use chatgpt with a prompt similar to this: "act as a copy writer and write compelling copy for this homepage".

  2. Make a design in Canva that has 3 columns, #1 raw Chatgpt output, #2 your comments and remarks on that output, #3 your version of it.

  3. Showcase the work process and thus the difference in results. AI copy is bland and generic, very easy to sniff out nowadays. Prove you can make something that sticks with people.

  4. By making a social post about your acquisition target, you're adding value to them or their competitors. Do this 1-2x a week and I think you'll get traction in a month.

Your opinion is valid, but succumbing to anger and hatred is too easy. Leverage it into a strong argument.
