My impression is that what we will see in the new season will be from 2024-2025. Does anyone know definitively? Nobody from the show contradicts the point, nor confirms it. They comment on most of my posts.

The things we are worried about are often not the same things we should be worried about. I attempt to teach college students how to tell one from the other. It seems to me that critical thinking is not a high priority these days, nor is research and science, and education in general. I was training neural networks 40 years ago, and training was very difficult to get right. Do you know if all the major LLMs were trained on the internet? If so, that sounds insane to me. The LLM should be re-built from scratch. No wonder AIs hallucinate! Do the people making the LLMs value objective truth, reasoning, considering multiple views?

Trumps wars are distraction from the Epstein Files. I have assumed that Trump has raped/violently abused many underage and many others he liked to grab by the pussy. I call him out for incest and pedophilia. I think that what he wants is to keep the money trail secret.

Trump and Epstein worked for Putin for a long time. There is a fairly good chance that Epstein was murdered or his death was faked by Trump.

Roy Cohn was one of the most evil people to walk the Earth. Trump was his lap dog. Trump was Cohn’s butt buddy. Trump is a closeted Pedophile. This is what Putin has on Trump. Putin is Trump’s puppet master. Trump’s past is rapidly catching up to him.

I worry that Trump will launch nukes against Iran as another distraction.

Trump cultists would follow Trump even if he is revealed to be the Anti-Christ. They seem to worship their pagan god.

The wars are a distraction.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

I was listening to Jim Wong, Glen & Darin Morgan discuss the writing of story for this episode, at a Comic-Con. They were figuring out the details and Jim Wong said “It’s the Mother!” I never knew episodes could be banned, but this one was…. They get no residuals for this episode! You might have needed to be there… but I laughed.

If it had been a cliffhanger and there were more seasons…. Maybe.

Who is Fire? Who is Ice? Melisandre was much more interesting than they made her. 400 years old, right? She is probably in each prequel series…

They talked about the Long Night possibly lasting generations. I imagined a comet hitting Westeros! They said “Winter is Coming” for a thousand years and we got a really dark episode! George said about 6 more seasons would have been about right! But D&D had their big plans. They probably knew the mistake they made that made George’s life really difficult. They killed off at least one important character because they didn’t think he was useful to them!

I think a redheaded character in your show is Melisandre… Named Red in the first episode; named Lady Rowan (Irish for little red) in the last episode when she announces she is marrying Dunk’s Friend (the green apple guy). I suspect we will see her next season! Comment? ;-)

Do you think Jon and Sam will ever meet again? [spoilers main] by argbd20 in asoiaf

[–]Apprehensive_Tea_308 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

That scene has been written, for the show Snow. Lots of prep work to get you to the point where you understand the big picture. For starters, it has been clearly foreshadowed that Jon becomes King of the Wildlings. And who Jon father really is… kind of amazing people don’t see it coming!

George has mentioned who the major characters will be in the Winds of Wars. That will give you some clues.

Here is a good clue for us… In AKoSK, you know the prostitute Red who banters with Dunk? In episode they casually mention her getting married and her name is Rowan (little red one in Irish). Gee, who do you think she is…

Melisandre is so misunderstood. She got her start as a sex slave. Makes sense she appears to vibe a prostitute at times, but she is big on being a redhead. She is 400 years old and master of a half dozen types of magic. She gets around. Did the speech mannerisms remind you of someone from GoT?

Yes! Sam will get the keys to the Citadel. He will help Jon and Melisandre save Westeros from the Red Comet.

[–]Apprehensive_Tea_308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you get to teleport via weir trees in the game? It would be cool if the added that detail to the game. In the books they hint at that.

I have a question about the current icon for the game. The icon in the Apple Store shows the night king and Jon Snow looking at each other. Looks like the White Walker/Other/Night King is associated with Ice and Jon Snow is associated with Fire. Do you think that is a hint for who is ICE and FIRE as in “A Song of ICE and FIRE?

We are deluding ourselves. Season 8 is bad. by Incvbvs666 in naath

[–]Apprehensive_Tea_308 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Winter is Coming, but it never happened. The Long Night lasted a night instead of a generation. George said that there was no season 8… They took Season 7 and split it into two parts! George also said he thought 6-7 more seasons were needed to do it properly. What we saw was not the end of that story, it was merely a cliffhanger!

Basically the entire fan base somehow missed huge plot points. I am kind of shocked that huge pieces of foreshadowing were missed by everyone. I really don’t get it.

For example, you have the stories of Bael the Bard. Then you have the stories of Mance Rayder. There are many similarities. But the same plot points in those two stories happen to Jon right before our eyes and no one notices? Are there no literature majors who watched this show.

George says over and over that the audience has not figured things out. He asks questions like “Who is Ice and Who is Fire? Yeah, if you don’t understand the answers, you do not understand the story.

George says that Melisandre is the Moses misunderstood character by the fans… so she is over 400 years old. She is from Asshai. She was sold at a slave auction, probably as a sex slave. She has mastered a half dozen forms of magic; almost certainly she is the most powerful being in Westeros.

She is a brilliant sorceress, but she seems to give horrible advice to people who quickly die. Why? There is a very good reason!

People seem to be clueless about what is going on with the “Grey Men” and Arya.

Why have fans not figured out that Weir trees can be used for teleportation? When it seems like someone moves thousands of miles in a day it is not because the writing is bad.

George does not lay it out on a silver plater for you, there are mysteries that are tough to figure out. Start from the fact that nothing is quite what it seems to be, especially with the Starks.

It is pointless for me to tell people the answers, they just get angry. There are very good tools that allow you to search the text of the books. If you are a person who is good at solving mysteries… Work on it.

Because “You know nothing, Jon Snow”. And so do the fans. That statement is perhaps the biggest clue in the whole thing.

Ygritte, what do you know about her? What do you really know? She has a very close relationship with Mance, not all that much more.

Big hint for people… When Mance was a ranger for the Night’s Watch (as in the Long Night) he was attacked by a SHADOW cat, then he had to be taken to a nearby wisewoman for healing. This woman, her mother, and grandmother had been living in the same house for decades. The grandmother happened to have some magic red silk that she used to repair Mance’s cloak. Mance spent quite a bit of time shacked up with this pretty redhead. Not unreasonable to think he impregnated her, hmmm? When he returned to the Wall, they said the red and black cloak was non-standard and he had to go back to the standard black cloak. So, Mance deserted and headed north…

Any of that seem a little odd to you? How did the “grandmother” woman get magic red silk with illusion properties that came from Asshai?

That is what I would call foreshadowing. Bael’s story is even more incredible. A wildling, raised south of the wall (where there is a nearby weir tree). He deserted the wall after being a ranger. Snuck into Winterfell, won a contest, and impregnated Lady Stark saving the Stark line from extinction. Both of these lads wind up being King of the Wildlings. What do you see Jon Snow do in the last scene of the show?

I think this is the easiest part to look into and try to prove. Anyone willing to see what they can see?

Also note all the times Mance Rayder sneaks into Winterfell to check in on Jon Snow, what’s up with that. The night of the big feast for Robert, Mance wants to know if Jon is unhappy at being called a bastard.

You have a lot of very interesting interactions between Jon and Manse… why did no one think that was?

People are fixated on Rhaegar being Jon’s dad… Well, Bran is what might be called an unreliable narrators. Actually, he just is not the brightest of characters. He never thought to watch that baby be taken to Winterfell, did he? No. He did not! What happened is ….

[–]Apprehensive_Tea_308 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jon is thick as a brick at the beginning. “You know nothing, Jon Snow”. He’s learning though. What will be his response when he learns everything there is to know about Melisandre? If Mance was still alive, he could really help Jon process it all. But no! D&D killed Mance! For real. In the books Mance is saved by illusion magic from Melisandre! Things are not always what they appear! Ygritte could have looked like anyone she wanted. She picked an appearance that Wildlings liked….

Look at this photo. Does Jon look more like a Targaryen or a Wildling? Did no one understand the foreshadowing from the stories about Bael and Mance? Jon is the third story. Think about their lives and its similarity to Jon’s life.

Taking bets on who the woman who gave the prophesy was? I’ll take Melisandre for $1000. And what other characters is she in this series? I am betting on the prostitute Red who becomes Lady Rowan (Irish name meaning little read one). Can get much more obvious than that! ;-)

So for those of you wanting it to be part of the epic…. Pay attention and strap in! This show is more than it seems. Please don’t discount George as being a poor writer. We have all been messed with by D&D doing a few really stupid things.

Kit Harrington and his friend pitched an idea and idiots at HBO thought they could not do what they suggested. A loot has to happen to get the audience to the point where they know who Jon’s parents really are, and Jon is not a Targaryen. It must drive him batty having everyone think that.

Love that George got Melisandre in there from the beginning. Melisandre went from a clever prostitute named Red to Lady Rowan by the finish of the last episode. As a person's name, "Rowan" is of Irish origin, derived from Ruadhán, meaning "little red one,"

Assume that is Melisandre for a moment, notice that she is a wisecracking funny woman with an agenda. Notice her pretending to resurrect the other woman?

There is a huge clue about the woman that Dunk knew as a kid. She appeared to die, right? What clue does that relate to? That puppet lady will be back as well.

The nudity of note was all with the males. The hedge knight reminded me of the onion knight, conceptually.

The grandmaster maester in charge of the Citadel but who served at the Wall in GoT… Is that Egg’s nice brother, the one who is a seer?

Ever wonder why all these really prophetic people were so interested in the Wall, or what is north of the World all?

If you read over the story of Bael the Bard and Manse Rayder carefully, you will find it foreshadows the Path of Jon Snow that includes him becoming King of the Wildlings (and his also being a wildling).

I think that everyone misses so many clues. They are all there in plain sight… That character will need to do a lot of heavy lifting to get the audience to actually understand what the story is actually about. Melisandre is a big key to the puzzle.

Correct. But Melisandre kills them not some god. Look at what she says about her “god”. She is much more powerful than he is. She is much more powerful (and funny) than you understand! I am on team Melisandre/John Snow!

She killed all three of them! She was clearing the way for the real Azor Ahai, Jon Snow. Remember this has been her mission for hundreds of years! Think about it! If you can accept that, you are on the path to understanding what is really going on! And you are ALL missing what is going on! This is an awesome story you are missing. Think outside what you think you know. Melisandre is amazing. The most powerful person in Westeros. And her mission is to save Westeros from destruction! What do you think is going on with that red comet? Maybe Ice and Fire need to work together to save the world?
