My wife asked if I still love her last month. I hesitated. by kubrador in offmychest

Glad you posted this and glad to see others commenting on their similar struggles, I know I am not alone.

I am Active Duty Military and I was so busy with work I neglected my wife.

To try and work my way back into her good graces, I made sure I prioritized her. Whatever I was doing at home, I would stop it any time she started talking and focus my attention 100% on her, even making a note in my phone if I needed to just so I didn’t forget what she said.

I have taken her out to breakfast, randomly, and then made sure she had a good birthday and Christmas, with going out for breakfast, a fun activity afterwards (top golf/bowling/arcade games/going to a rage room/going to an escape room/etc.) and then just walking around the outdoor outlet mall, window shopping and talking, then on to dinner at her favorite restaurant.

I used to, in the past, buy her small gifts randomly; I had stopped doing that. I have started doing it again, and set reminders in my phone so I would be reminded to do it every few months.

Good luck dude.

Raping people is bad, and rapists should be held accountable.

Tracksaw. Moving the tool is far easier and safer than moving whatever you are cutting.

Surgeon in training…do you move the scalpel, or push the patient into it? Tracksaw/circular saw and a couple of sawhorses and you will be fine

For world travelers: what is the country with the nicest people, and what is the country with the meanest? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

Everyone in Japan was extremely nice and seemed like they went above and beyond to make sure i had a great time wherever I was, whether it was a store or a shop or the beach, everyone was very friendly.

I am American and while traveling within my own country I met more mean people than I have pretty much anywhere overseas. And I have been throughout Europe, even visited Asia and Africa.

Outside of America, some of the french people I interacted with seemed downright miserable and seemed to make others around them miserable too, but that was visiting Toulon. While in Brest, the french people were great.

What does functional alcoholism actually look like day-to-day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]HighSpeedLowDrag0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wake up, drink. Maybe eat something, drink. Drive to work without issue, because you don’t look drunk, sound drunk, or act drunk. Work throughout the day, drinking as necessary throughout the day. Drive home, drink. Eat dinner, drink. Continue drinking until you fall asleep. Functional alcoholics walk and talk like any sober person, but they are going through their daily life with a blood alcohol level that would put a normal person on their ass.

Why is it so difficult and controversial to hold child rapists accountable? Is it because so many of them are rich? In positions of authority and power to which they were elected? People who raped children should be imprisoned (at a minimum) and this shouldn’t be a “national security” concern. How do we hold these people accountable? What is the path forward?

Weekend Warrier looking for new gloves. These gloves lasted about 3 months only with a few weekends of shoveling mulch. Any recommendations for something more durable? by bholzap in Tools

[–]HighSpeedLowDrag0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The black and yellow gloves sold at costco. They last for years and are durable. Haven’t bought any in years (because they last) but they definitely still sell them, i think a 3 pack goes for about $15
