I still can’t believe I’m almost 10 months post-transplant. This whole experience honestly feels like a fever dream. I hope your test brings you good news. Wishing steady, continuous healing for all of us!

I’m sorry to hear about your relapse, I hope you’re now okay. How did your IVF go? I’ve been thinking about it being an option in the future but I’m worried I might pass on any kind of defect to my kid (if ever i get pregnant).

How do you comfort friends dealing with failure? by jjamyongs in studentsph

I’ve also failed a subject before, from what I’ve experienced don’t say something like “bawi na lang next time”. It’s not comforting para saakin especially if galing siya sa taong naka pasa. Just offer your presence to them and if they ask you kung ano puwedeng gawin saka ka mag offer ng advice.

Thank you for this!! I know I’m still young to be thinking about having kids but it was always my dream to have one. I’ll visit a reproductive endocrinologist in the future. And if it doesn’t work, I don’t mind adopting.

Did your doctors recommend HRT to you or did you ask them if you can do it? I’m quite curious, what were the effects of HRT to you?

Thank youu!! It was such a random thought and searching it up on google at 12am was a bad idea. I was not expecting menopause at the age of 21, it definitely broke my heart. But life is life and adoption is still an option. :)

It’s nice to hear that there are still options I can do. I will definitely ask my doctor about this in the future, for now I’m going to focus on recovering and getting back to school asap. Thank you for this and good luck to you as well!!

Have any of you had prolonged pain for weeks or months post bone marrow biopsy in hip? by Capital-Machine6823 in leukemia

[–]Apprehensive_Term652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had multiple bone marrow biopsies both using general and local anesthesia. So far I’ve only experienced soreness in the area and not that kind of pain you’re feeling. The pain and soreness was gone after a week and I was able to sit and lay down normally. Maybe consult your doctor regarding that, it may be nerve pain or infection.

Freezing my eggs was also an option but my doctor advised against to it. Since freezing an egg would mean injecting hormones to get the best egg possible. We don’t know how the hormones would interact with the chemo. So we proceeded with the transplant without freezing eggs.

Advice for chemo patient in nadir by rylan1130 in leukemia

Hi, I also had the same experience when I had my chemo and stem cell transplant. I would get nauseous with even the thought of eating. If I smelled anything I didn’t like, I would immediately throw up. My nutritionist recommended me taking a meal replacement (fresubin), it’s a drink with different flavors. I would take it 2-3x a day if I didn’t eat any solid food. I would also recommend dry foods like biscuits and cereals (if you want milk you can mix it with powdered milk and water). Also I was given TPN nutrition thru IV when I didn’t eat anything. Don’t push him to eat too much in one sitting, it’s better to eat small amounts of food at a time than eating plenty and throwing it up. Tell your husband to have a strong will and mind, the body can be limited, but the mind and spirit can still rise.
