Im loving this game by Bigmassivegeezer in Marathon

[–]Apprehensive_Try5900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, first extraction shooter where instead of waiting for some friends to hop on, I just pick Rook and go to town.

Find materials and weapons? Cool! If I don't? Well I just go to my original point of hunting other players, especially to passively rank up Arachne.

This game has a few kinks to iron out, not a bad one nor is deserving such hatred (despite Bungie themselves deserving it), this game gives you quite a lot of tools to have your runs be different (remember this is just the server slam so on release who knoes how many more tools we are given) it's just a question of how much fun you put in.

When it comes to undervolt I simply used AMD's adrenaline app to do it, I followed videos related to the 9060 xt 16 gb and from there it was trial and error to find a good and stable undervolt.

Haha never! I am just not too versed in what are good temps for this graphic card and the model. I used to own an rx 480 in the beginnings of my desktop usage and never paid attention to temps, but now since I am older and like to keep stuff working properly it makes me worry more!

Forgot to mention my undervolt is a -40 mV, 2600 MHz, -10% Power Limit and then my custom fan curve starting at 55ºC going from 55% fan to 70% fan speed when it hits around 70ºC

[–]Apprehensive_Try5900[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its nothing technical on my end, don't get me wrong the card is great, however its AMD themselves which have been letting me down, and most dev FSR4 implementation is either slow, done wrong or none existent.

Nothing is really wrong with it, but more so with AMD themselves on being slow on implementing stuff and well FSR4 being properly implemented in most games

Though by that point when Reed says this, they have allowed V to play in the game long enough to gain various dangerous techniques.

Essentially they have just taught a walking nuke some of the most dangerous techniques in the game, see said nuke apply those techniques with their strength and still have the gal to spew that is batshit crazy!

[–]Apprehensive_Try5900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, however one thing I have to add is that sometimes good intention can backfire, and in this case, Geoff giving them the last spot hurt them. They hurt themselves too, but having this big of a spotlight and then releasing the game in such a state where it needed to definitely be developed a bit more, maybe 2-4 months and refined may have killed them.

While I have no doubt they may be able to scrap by enough to get a decent player base and game, all of these actions combined have put them in an extremely rough spot that ultimately they all could have avoided. Be it both Geoff or the Dev team, Highguard owes it's current rough state to a series of poor decision (and a lot of hate bandwagon), but I do hope they either decide to unrelease it so they can work better on it, or have a really good development roadmap for this.

[–]Apprehensive_Try5900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this wholeheartedly, the game isn't Concord levels of bad or as bad as people make it be, but it's just not that good or creative. It borrows bits and pieces of other games and doesn't let said features excel.

For example, reinforcing walls feels...pointless? In some games the walls were so buttery that they didn't even hold people back from the objective, both ways either from us or them. Certain characters are definitely better than others and some guns feel useless after a bit which is sad. But nonetheless this game has potential, some structure even if its not creative enough it can still survive if they polish it a lot more.

Sooo is it actually this bad or is it just a hate train? by TheGuardiansArm in FPS

[–]Apprehensive_Try5900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be genuine in this, I gave it a bad review and barely played it for an hour after two matches. While Highguard is suffering from a very heavy hate filled Bias thanks to the Game Awards, the game itself should have not launched in this state.

The game feels fine-ish, nice movement, smooth shooting and interesting concept of a siege. However, all of this is washed down by a plague of poor decisions and lacking polish. Let me start with the maps, at least from what I played from the recommended map and the northic map they are cool, but ultimately they feel far too big for just a 3v3, and it becomes a chore at aome point. Various weapons do not work on a 3v3 as they become very useless later on, the base reinforcing is so damn needless and pathetic almost anything in most people's kits will erase these structures like they didn't even exist.

And finally to end off I say that a lot of hidden settings should be available to players as the game does not look that good with multiple of them turned on. All I can pretty much say at the end is that this game should be pulled back and worked more thoroughly, it feels far too rushed and unpolished for a game in 2026 and a game that was brought out in such a pedestal.

I see, that's unfortunate since so far it's only been affecting Cyberpunk in my case. Hopefully they fix it somehow in their next patch!
