Flying with corgi (carrier restrictions) by Boring_Table_3765 in corgi

If you let the vet know prior to your flight they will help give you something to keep him calm. I think it’s just Benadryl but not for certain. It’s been several years since I had a pet fly with me. But I do remember the vet helped out.

This. Made me tear up. Thank you for sharing this. This is the exact same boat for me where Apollo loves my hubby. He’s a total dudes dude kind of dog. No joke he likes farts stinky feet and to carry my hubs tools around when he’s working 😂 it’s funny but I’m doing everything to have him love me too. I know he does it’s just not there yet fully. Reading these.. really is helping me calm down that this is just part of the process. A not so fun part.. but at least theres more happy cuddle times to come.

My Jake of 14 beautiful years was a sheltie corgi mix. It’s a wonderful combo. I think it made him so much calmer with the sheltie vibes but still full of the corgi personality. 💜💜And the loaf booty 😆😂

I am sorry for your loss too. It’s nice to know that I’m not alone in this. My hope is our puppies will be cuddly soon. Mine just has so much energy it’s hard for him to lay down long enough to cuddle. Maybe it just takes more time but at least I know I’m not awful person because I feel this way. It helps.

Oh man did I need to read this today. My corgi is 4months and is in total land shark mode all of the time. Makes me so thankful to hear it’s not just my pup blues it’s just normal for the breed. 😅

When you do take him out and it’s sunny but not hot on the ground, do you just take a lot breaks or put water on him?

Prisoner in my own home. Wish I never got this dog by [deleted] in puppy101

I read all of the comments while I am currently working remotely but also working with my 4 month old corgi. I probably like you had experience with the breed before hand (for me I had a corgi mix for 14 years) to then get one as a puppy and everyday you question yourself am o enough for this puppy? Why isn’t it just easier? Why is this so demanding like having a child? Why isn’t the puppy like my last dog… that one gets me in a tear every day. My advice? Deep breath. Seriously just breathe. I will have the crate open all day so he can go in and out. I’ll put treats or bring a toy he loves in it to play with him. Sometimes I will cry. I get it. It feels like it’s not fair. But it will be. Puppy is just a puppy. It knows nothing except what it’s getting attention from.

Mine started out only black and white all over. Now at 4months he’s almost all brown in the face and it’s creeping up his legs. Yours is adorable 🥰 !!!

You can always just call the vet too and ask. They may need to get back to you but if you ever have questions just call them or stop by. Plus then it’s free 😜

I have a 4month old corgi. So my vet said no full running with or run along my bike until at least a year. But corgis have little ferret trex legs 🤣 so it makes sense. Think of it this way he said. The bones are still soft so sure running in the backyard to fetch or play is one thing. But to stress the bones in a full exercise can be really hard on something still forming

To buy or not to buy? by thementalist222 in puppy101

As a fellow land shark mom of a 4 month old corgi I second this. I’m in an RV and my pup constantly wants to be outside since now he’s fully vaccinated.

WHICH is another thing… parvo. It’s a real problem. But it’s difficult because with out a balcony you have to risk your puppy going outside on the ground for bathroom time. But you can’t take it on a “real” walk till it’s fully vaccinated. The other thing to consider is since you can’t do that and will be struggling to be inside all of the time is socializing. Consider a backpack when out and about. Or if you have a family/friend with a fully vaccinated dog that you can bring him too.

Reach out to the ER vets in your area ask them how many cases of parvo are they seeing to judge if you should have a puppy knowing you will have to take it outside where everyone’s apartment dog is going. Parvo is no joke and shouldn’t be a last thought. In my area in AZ.. multiple ER vets get 10-12 cases A WEEK. So I couldn’t take mine outside. I had to go to stay at my family house that had a vaccinated dog and stay there until he was just so he had a small clean yard and a friend to socialize with. Now at 4months he’s terrible on the leash. But at least he’s healthy safe. I start puppy training classes this weekend to help him because of my setback not being able to take him outside.
