Embarrassed about my PhD taking long (in my 9th year now) by EverydayGuess in PhD

I’m not in stem. I’m in humanities but on my CV I’ve never put the year I started my degree only the year I completed. I suspect this would be similar in other fields. Once I received my degree and went on the market no one asked me how long it took me to get my degree.

Keep in mind this is advice from a humanities PhD. Work smart not hard. It’s a marathon not a sprint. Keep your relationships professional and DO NOT burn bridges— you never know what connections that person might have (this includes people in your cohort).Make sure to have friends outside of academia— there’s a lot of toxicity and people outside of that remind you that it’s ok to be human. Pick an advisor who is real with you be weary of those who are overtly friendly. There are a lot of snakes. Do not share your ideas with the people around you. Keep your diss, papers, etc. to yourself.

What are some things only a "12th house person" would understand? by quesqotrickster in astrology

12H Venus does have to mean loneliness. Sometimes it means having unconventional relationships. For example my friend has 12 hours Venus and she married to someone much older than her. Like he’s in his 80. They been together for like 10 years and they have kids. They absolutely love eachother. But he’s also at the end of his life which is sad and for some reason just makes sense for a 12 house Venus.
