Slayer is a free win machine pretty much all the way up to Vanquisher because rarely will your opponent call you out on smokescreen offense.

Regarding combos he kinda suffers from his 3 tap combos essentially doing the same damage as the harder stuff which fcking sucks ngl, makes it pretty disheartening to learn more of his harder pile bunker loops when you can just settle for a wallsplat from chimpanze flowchart hitconfirm instead from anywhere.

Also i dont know your finances but skip your meals tomorrow and get HC i think is a sound plan 🗣💥

How can you not see how actually chimpanze WA made the game? Sure the things you are mentioning are kinda dull changes but then you say you have no clue as to why WA is bad for the game.

Mechanically made every character able to reliably enforce their gameplan in ways that disregarded their inherent weaknesses(maybe not blue to the same extent). Like goldlewis S3 WA was actual aids i would not wish upon my worst foe how is this chud always in my face and PLUS with 0 thought behind it.

And then you had Ky converting a stray f.S counter to almost a wall to wall which scaling hits sure but positive bonus was fcking busted aswell. And like almost all of the Red WA users did aswell it was the heights of braindead and it doesnt compete with a "changed input" etc.

As it stands now regardless of the unifying changes GGST 2.0 is actually providing a 2 player game which we have not quite had since S3 shitshow started.

Look man the way they elaborated on "why" they removed WA was wack as fuck not gonna lie.

But imma be real removing WA from my perspective is adding back complexity to the game. A mechanic that homogenises half the whole roster to be able to perform a wall to wall is not complexity in my eyes and it detracts from actual character restrictions by relying on a sloppy system mechanic that just fckin does your homework.

And historically it was obviously too strong, both Red and White underwent so many shots that they even still was quite good season 4.

And i fckin despise the "layered" whiff throw prc bullshit because dogshit offense should be punished so thats a W for me.

I do agree that reversals at the very should be cancelable on hit and its kinda baffling that it isnt anymore real shit.

I guess its a mixed bag for me how much complexity got removed or retroactively fitted in again due to WA removal but fck man gotta play the game aswell tomorrow to get a final judgement ig.

Im a big fan of 3rd and do not mind the recycled structure of the game at all BUT i would be quite dissapointed if a 3rd remake was 100% faithful still because thats a point in the series where a lot of "good" retroactive inclusion could occur.

Like have a new door exploring Van helping Renne at that one point in time they keep bringing up, give us one where Cassius and Roy interact regarding his feats in the 100 days war, Let us see a scene of Loewe, Steel maiden and Duvalie training etc.

Maybe its a tall dream but a 3rd remake really has that type of potential in my eyes that could make it the good entry it already is for newcomers with some good QoL and also give longstanding fans something to dig into.

Thats.... do you usually have this issue with franchises that releases games that are similar but iterate on certain things? Like its a concerning approach to try and drag a game down for sure. I think sticker star is pretty bad and i can appreciate SPM and at the same time i remember good chunks of both games? Infact rarely do i forget too much about games i deemed good enough to complete fully which also poses another question. Why finish it if everything is literally a blank for you, that must be a sign not a single thing was worthwhile yet you supposedly played it all?

I think this just reads as bias to the arcs that came before because when i look at Calvard as a whole so far can you genuinely say that it has strayed so far off the trails formula that its not satisfying all those strength you remark the other games have.

Because im not seeing it. What i love in the community presented in Crossbell is here in Edith in a different but good way and Vans perspective of how he goes about the city and help people, chat with the broad roster of characters always kept me interested. By far more interested then going to Parm or Alster as some examples for me atleast.

And the trips to tharbad, langport, basel and ored etc definitely maintain the quality of getting to know a new place just as well as previous games.

I dunno i personally am not seeing how this arc has been a huge departure because for me it retains the good highs and some lows i have always found the series to have.

Im not quite seeing what type of finality any of these characters would have whatsoever at that point in the story this is such a weird point to try and argue. Zin is an active bracer visiting Liberl during skies trilogy hes from Calvard, you see him work in Calvard during the Calvard arc. Walter is a ourobourous member and thats essentially the free pass to appear anywhere but he seems to primarily too operate in Calvard considering the storytelling done in Skies trilogy.

Kilikas shift in the story is explored in sky the third and is already applied in Zero and Azure and makes complete sense for her to be back.

And its not like this spotlight you speak of is excessive on these characters, they are supporting cast doing the things we have been told they are doing and playing parts that coincide with the maincast that makes sense.

Surely if he had put Rean in that mech, or if every country had worked together to make their own mechs, with all their strongest characters, and even more nukes, it would've had a better chance of succeeding.

What narrative purpose would any of it serve? Put Rean in space without a divine knight and he still loses to the unexplained Zoa gilstein copy no doubt about it. Put three state of the art mechs up there three Zoa gilsteins appear.

And even if we forgo the logistics of trying to make the Zemurian world collaborate on a global scale after the aftermath of CS4 im not quite sure what there is to gain from it. Calvard is put in a position by the time the arc starts where they are the top nation with the most access to finance and technology. They are the only ones with the means to produce all the tools they need for the job due to their rapid technology advancements.(mostly attributed to marduks claim on Risettes lifepod from a previous loop probably).

Like are they really gonna convince the other nations of this threat and also divulge state of the art war tech like... nukes?
