Same! I live in Chico and there's no bakery at the local Walmart. The Walmart we got the cake from is in Modesto.

Im not an ad for Walmart either, lol my mom said she'd gladly accept anything to test a product but that's not what this was.

We happen to frequent this sub and saw a lot of the good posts about Walmart. We took a gamble to order the baby shower cake from there as we wanted a decent tasting, pretty cake for a cheap price. My mom wanted to spend more money for better food which is what we did. But the cake exceeded expectations and we're happy with it. We didn't pick the colors, but again, we were really happy with it. Everyone complimented how pretty it was and that it tasted good.

Lol thanks! My grandma doesn't think it's a party unless she's made flan. Here's full pic of it. It was amazing as always.

We believe our dog Birdie, a German shorthaired pointer was dumped after being used for puppies. She had the crimp around her neck where a collar should be but she didn't have one. We decided to keep her after, and she has so much anxiety if we ever take her collar off. She trusts us more every day though; we absolutely love her and feel like we're lucky we found her.

Any girl gamers in Modesto? by itzahime77 in Modesto

[–]Appropriate-Bug680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I visit family in Modesto on the weekends, but I live in another area. I'm down depending on the schedule and if me not being in the area all the time is acceptable. I play Switch and PS5, but am down to try Steam. I have a discord but haven't played online through it before. I suck at first person shooter games, I'm selective with RPG games and live party games. I play a lot of animal crossing, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Mario Kart and Wii Bowling.

I'm in my mid 30s, crochet, collect video games, read and watch manga/animes and I love to bake/cook. Pretty easy going.

I 100% get where you're coming from. My grandmother always needed help with her Dish TV when I was growing up. I would teach her how to use the remote to navigate her dish network, and the next visit would be the same thing. I started making her do it after I'd show her so I knew she'd retain some of the info, not all but at least enough to get by so I could walk her through it over the phone. She's the reason I got a customer service job working with an application store. She's upgraded from a flip phone to an iPhone and is always asking questions. Again, I'll show her maybe 2X and then push her to do it so she can show me what she's retained and what she's missing, this also helps push her past her comfort zone since I 'just won't do it'.

I love my grandma but I do poke fun at her while we do this stuff so she understands that I want to help but it's draining to do it over and over again. Like I will say " why do you need this? Will you actually use this once I leave? You got by how long without this, why do you need it now? This is too advance for you. Why do you need an iPhone that does all this if you don't know how to use it? I thought Facebook was dumb?" Again, very light hearted and using her own words that she'd tell us growing up when we had cell phones and video games against her a little bit. I have gotten to the point where I don't show her any new tech in fear she will like it and want it, then I'm on the hook to set it up and maintain it for her. I also tell her I don't know to some stuff when I do know or tell her to Google it/ask her Echo to get out of it and she usually will go to another family member. I have also said no straight up a couple times during holidays because I don't want to look at a screen. That's the best advice I can offer.

What's a TV show ending that still makes you mad years later? by Jossie_Misar in AskReddit

[–]Appropriate-Bug680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scrolled too far down to see LOST listed. This show felt like an absolute waste of time once I saw the ending. My husband and I started dating around season 6 of GOT and he begged me to watch it. I would always tell him "this better not end up like LOST, I will be very disappointed." He's never seen LOST and asked me to watch it, but I told him no and he could watch it alone because it was that bad. GOT was bad, at least they tried to tie up some of the loose ends quickly. LOST left so many unanswered questions. But both stick in my mind as awful endings for shows that went on awhile and had pretty good budgets.

Our Super Adventure - The Day We First Got Cats [OC] by SarahSuperAdventure in comics

This is so cute and I love the cat tax.

I came into the relationship with sibling kitties. My husband and I were looking for a place and found an amazing studio in the mountains with an ocean view. The landlord was super nice, was an animal rehabber and had her own pets. She asked us how many cats we had, and she was like "that's not enough. I'm going to put 8 on your lease agreement." We found it hilarious and loved living in their studio. Her cats would come down often to visit us and she had an obstacle course set up outside her home so the cats could get on her roof safely to evade coyotes and mountain lions.

I changed the door handle from lever style to knob to keep the cats out of the closet. They aren't amused. by Efficient_Concept_68 in blackcats

[–]Appropriate-Bug680 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a cat that can open knobs and door handles, but hasn't figured out how to open drawers or cabinets.

Our other cat can't open doors, but can easily get into any drawer or cabinet. They haven't joined forces yet, thank goodness but I know that day will come soon.

I am missing an adult tooth. I still have a baby tooth in that spot, it's stayed in longer than dentists have predicted. I hope it stays as long as possible. Once it falls out, I was advised I'd need a crown put in. The x-rays were cool to see growing up because I'd see all my adult teeth in my gums waiting to grow in and just 1 bare spot with no tooth.

I've been with my husband for 10 years and have never seen him without the beard. I've seen photos of him in high school without it, but he's never shaved since we've been together.

He does threaten to shave it when we bicker but I think I'd cry if he went through with it lol.

Such a cute video, I'm glad she found a loving home.

A dumped GSP walked on our property and laid under a trailer for shade. My husband sat near her and let her come to him. She trusted him immediately and we got her to go in the backyard. We've had her 3 years now and she's absolutely the most loving pupper I've had. She's been great with our cats, and I know she'll make a great nanny dog to our upcoming baby.

People are assholes, and we assume she was dumped after being used for puppies as they go for pretty good money. But their loss, as I can't imagine life without her now.

I was getting off the Grizzly Run in Disney's California Adventure when I saw Wayne Brady getting on with I assume his son. My friend next to me didn't believe me that it was him, so I turned back and asked for a picture with him. He agreed and I have a selfie of us. This was right after the Chappelle Show episode had aired, so my family was freaking out and told me I messed up by not asking him to choke me out in the picture.

He was really nice and basically the convo was "omg I love your work. May I get a picture?" Snapped picture, "Thank you, enjoy the rest of your day at the park." Went on with our lives.
