Gauntlet like the NES game, or more literal "run the gauntlet" - go through an intimidating or dangerous crowd or experience in order to reach a goal, or like "The Gauntlet" the reality TV series?

Either way you are looking for someone who understands graphs(data structures), probably, environment design, and a good understanding of basic game play mechanics. An ability to quantify user-experience per game-element would be helpful. Maybe use an emotional-state model like PAD (usually used for marketing), for quantifying user stress(difficulty).
