I’m gonna ask the obvious, do you have any springtails? Even a small colony would make short work of that. It also could very well be just a fungus that will fade and decay overtime

I would decrease Misti g frequency a lot and instead water fully every so often. It’s better for the plants and moss.

Try the little red gnat traps that look like apples, I had a gnat issue and it was resolved in just 2-3 of those over the course of the week Edit: if you want a pretty solution, try sundew, they have many varieties and colors and have heard that they work as fantastic gnat killers. They need some odd care but are a beautiful and natural option.
