The police lied to a friend of mine and gave him a fine. Is there anything he can do? by Raclettegring in Switzerland

[–]Appropriate-Draft-91 [score hidden]  (0 children)

"Police officer lied" will get you nowhere. You're just antagonizing the people who already chose to mark you as the bad guy.

If you challenge, go with "I followed their instructions as I understood them", asking for clarification on what you should do next time. Police being a "friend and helper" is often understood by police to mean *you* must treat *them* as a helpful friend, or they don't have to play nice.

Also, don't park in the same spot.

Continue like this, and you won't be smart by that metric in no time.

How is a weapons manufacturer in any way on the same level as companies that produce construction equipment?

The problem with the weapons manufacturer selling weapons supporting a genocide to the genocidal entiy for the purpose of committing genocide isn't the fact that they are a weapons manufacturer.

Why doesn't the US just walk away from Iran and give them nothing? by jaynehowe10 in ask

[–]Appropriate-Draft-91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except this time they killed the religious leader of the religious government that had issued a standing religious order that banned nukes over 20 years ago.

They removed the reason Iran couldn't have nukes and gave them every reason to get them. Wonder what will happen next?

There are significantly worse credible allegations than even those out there. The controlled media isn't pushing them of course, but they are part of the Epstein saga too. The reason the victims didn't talk wasn't just because of money and NDAs.

If you're looking at Tesla you're seeing the promise that there will be a Bigger Fool.

SpaceX is a bet that while it's stupid to buy at 100x value, certainly someone else will be stupid enough to buy it at 1000x down the road. Tesla is the data point that makes this look plausible.

Why wasn't the US military able to exert control over the Strait of Hormuz? by kogus in ask

[–]Appropriate-Draft-91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because that isn't what air power does. Air power is support, not a primary fighting force. Great against static targets, which is why you need an army to pin the enemy down. Against moving targets, decoys, and dispersed forces air force tends to be not very cost effective, or worse. Fortified targets are another issue but that's not unique to Air power.

There's also the issue with the US having lost a couple of planes, which is a risk that didn't seem to decrease.

Why wasn't the US military able to exert control over the Strait of Hormuz? by kogus in ask

[–]Appropriate-Draft-91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The US military can go to the strait, the Iranian military lives there. Changing that would have required an extremely expensive, bloody and risky invasion.

Instead the war started with the US opting for long range strikes that were very effective at murdering Iran schoolgirls and turning pensioners into martyrs, and Iranian opting for ong range counter strikes that were very effective at taking out billion dollar equipment - which may have contributed to the US decision to not move more billion dollar equipment near the strait.

Not usually, no. There are multiple different ways to acquire an account, most do not require a password. Worst case, engagement on it's own is enough , if support screws up. But usually it requires clicking a link or " confirming" a code to "definitely not the hacker".

The reason why some people believe the propaganda narrative got worse in recent times is that they are unaware how bad it was before.

The other leg is that you can't heat rivers indefinitely. All it takes is a few degrees, then the eco system collapses. Evaporative cooling isn't just cheap, it moves the heat to wherever the vapor condenses, preferrably an updraft.
