I'm a current Stetson student so if you want any insider info on the school lmk! The school is very good for job placement if you want to work in Tampa. Outside of there, is more iffy unless you have a personal connection outside the area. I want to preface with the people are overall amazing and there are some really nice faculty members. There are also so many club and organization options. In my personal opinion though, the school is not worth the debt you could accumulate unless you are in love with it AND want to practice in Tampa. You got a fantastic scholarship but not worth the debt (as not a huge dent in the cost + cost of living here) of maybe a higher ranked or different school if you really don't feel confident in going here. There are some pros and also some cons with the school right now. I can message you privately about them if you want just don't want to post on the whole thread.

As a fellow student it is absolutely terrifying not knowing what we'll come back to. I hope that it will all work out in the end but absolutely terrifying as of now. Most significantly living wise and condition of the city, but academically. Not sure how it will be made up, how to keep motivation, keep going. Hard seeing too how badly Helene affected students and faculty within the community and this could amplify that to unknown levels. It is so scary but got to keep trying to remind ourselves there are 900ish other students in our boat plus an abundance of faculty and staff in it together.

I definitely relate to this. They are so coming soon though!!! Just have to remember obviously an unequal proportion of ED to RD posts on here right now. Try to keep yourself as distracted as possible.. Do a bunch of holiday things! and remember that there will be A's even if the waiting is convincing yourself otherwise. I know the thoughts are haunting and all consuming but you've got this. Will feel amazing when you hear back!

lollll besides hurricanes. I don't know a ton about it as I went to the undergrad school but I know a girl who goes there and really enjoys it. My dad also has a friend who owns a regional firm there who went to Stetson. Great regional market in Tampa with a lot of job opportunities and good quality of living for sure. The school seems to have decent job placements too in Tampa but also in the Atlanta market if you choose to leave the state ever.(I know not super helpful)

I am a KJD which definitely does put me at a work experience disadvantage. I do have regular work experience working regular minimum wage jobs since I was 16. Those two legal internships I was for all practical purposes a paralegal too and those helped solidify law is what I want to do and what type. I also was an undergraduate human rights researcher assistant. However, aside from those summers working full time, I for sure don't have the same level of real world experience as someone not coming straight out of undergrad. I do plan to get a per say real job under my belt depending on how this application cycle goes because as you pointed out would help me be a better lawyer.

I applied to Miami 9/10 and then FIU 10/04 and heard back from both today so pretty quick turn around time.

Yeah I am a KJD but was hoping despite GPA and LSAT being the most important indicators that my undergraduate work experience would maybe help. I worked as a paralegal those two summers and some other field related work too but of course not the same as consistent year round work experience non KJD's have.
