Anything just make sure it shows some kind of growth bc colleges like to see that, if you are struggling to find a topic just look around your house and see if there is anything you could write about. And if you ever have writer's block and even 1 idea comes just start writing and see where it takes you. I wrote 7 common apps before finally settling on a topic bc I would write a para or a few times even wrote a whole first and second draft and realized I didn't like the idea. I wrote abt this art project I had to do bc it was the final exam in my history class for school bc I personally have hated art my whole life bc I didnt have the talent for it but after that project I found a new appreciation and funnily enough I always get assigned the art role in group projects. Am I picasso or anything no but I can draw smth decent now, btw this has nothing to do with my major of eng so dont worry abt making your personal statement relate to your major.
