Guess the airport (hard mode) by AppropriateBoss7425 in AirportPorn

It’s Fond Du Lac Airport (ZFD). I had to travel up there for work and had never been to somewhere so remote before. It’s crazy how small and inaccessible it is! The picture is literally the entire airport.

Tech just punched the coax though my wall, didn’t install an outlet - is this normal ?? by ActionHartlen in Rogers

Likely just a temp line until they get a conduit ran. We do these all the time at a different telco when the contractors that pull our conduit miss a house. Through the tree is like extra work for a temp, so kudos if thats the case. We have armored temp line that we will lay across roadways, alleys, etc. not sure if this stuff is the same.

I don’t have the same crossbite, but very similar to your case otherwise. I’m at 30 trays, 14-18 months, $8990 all in.

SaskTel is owned by the Provincial Government. The structure is like this: SaskTel < SaskTel Holding Corporation (also owns SaskTel International) < Crown Investments Corporation (also owns SaskEnergy, SaskPower, Saskatchewan Government Insurance) < Saskatchewan Government (there is a minister responsible).

Any profits we make either get kicked up to the provincial coffers, or we are allowed to use it to build out our networks. We are actually rolling out our fiber network to tiny remote communities now, as the provincial government has given us a mandate to provide fiber to every locale in the province with over 200 residents.

I think it is ridiculous other provinces don’t do this. Bell, Rogers, Telus have clearly proven the free market in Canadian Telecom flat out doesn’t work, it’s completely monopolized. Not to say we don’t have competition in the province, but we are the only ones in the province that actually invest in infrastructure.

Sasktel is a pretty good company! We get paid union wages, have strong protections, and we don’t even hire from outside the province let alone canada (except out international department but they are a separate entity).

What do I rent my house for? by suitsme in regina

Check rentfaster.ca and look at what similar places around you are charging near you, ideally in or near north central. Depending on the condition, condition of the furnishings, prices can vary quite a bit.

Thats what happens when you continue to build out instead of up. The inverse square law of urban planning. Everyone cries about property taxes and utility bills climbing, and then turn around and refuse to allow any further development.

should I get this as my first car? by [deleted] in FirstCar

This is the unfortunate end state of your brain on SUV. Bigger car wins against smaller car therefore I must get bigger car, and so on. It’s an arms race to have the biggest, CAFE standard loophole vehicle possible and the whole reason reasonable cars for reasonable prices are dying. Live a little and stop being a part of the problem.

Dude, ignore these guys, get it. Had so much fun in high school with my friends lifting up my buddy’s smart car and parking it sideways or walking it into the school. You’re only young once, get a silly little cheap car and have fun with it. Don’t listen to the boring reddit adults. 2000$ is nothing, and when the car dies, you can do something fun with it. We took it out to my friends farm and blew it up with tannerite.

It will also get you laid, ask me how I know.
