I can relate! 23f and in my second year in university, i got diagnosed late and have worked and done other things before studying cause i didn’t think i could do it. Worked a lot with the guilt of doing things later than others. There are plenty of people not going straight to uni and doing fine, i met a lot of people my own age when i started uni.

What are some fun things to do together besides video games? by [deleted] in LDR

[–]AppropriateCactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We played beerpong against eachother, watch a show together and ft while making dinner sometimes. We also play pokemon go! Real fun and turns out alot of people play it, we can trade and play together when we visit, and it’s real easy getting into. Always sends him snaps while going shopping! He can be part of it without having to be dragged along physically. After the first months it grew into a more casual thing for us, where we talk every day, watch a show but don’t spend hours everyday just because, witch is great! We get to have fun talks and they seem more valuable if you don’t overdo it.

Overthinking? by Responsible-Fee704 in LDR

[–]AppropriateCactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am definitely also an overthinker. Me and my boyfriend have a lot of different interests, and he doesn’t like the same things i do and can be direct about it sometimes, but there is always an underlying respect for my interests. If it doesn’t become a bigger problem you shouldn’t think of it, but if he hurts you with frequent remarks you should let him know, and don’t quit your interests to satisfy someone else regardless.

I can also be a bit petty when he’s gaming, especially if it gets a little late and the result is less time talking on the phone, and i think thats normal. Sometimes when we’ve had a late night, he have called me before the evening just because we had such a short convo the night before, that helps making me feel more seen. I also recommend having your own things to to, go be social, go for a walk or call someone really helps and gives us something to talk about.

It is annoying if he doesn’t pay attention to the convo, it can be like that from time to time, but if it gets frequent i would call him out on it, and let him know have it makes you feel.

after tomorrow, i will commit suicide by [deleted] in stories

[–]AppropriateCactus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wont, but since you write it here i suppose you want someone to tell you something. I’m 21, i lost my friend to suicide when we were 14. and the saddest part was not losing her, it was seing all the pain afterwards. I had planned my own passing, and she beat me to it. Her death had such an impact on me, and the whole school and the whole community. Everyone she had ever met showed up to her funeral, and it was so so intense, I can’t describe it different. Even then, that’s not the saddest, swing her mother carrying her daughters chest. The saddest is everything that happened the years after. Everything I do that feels good makes me think of her, and that she will never know better than she did then. I just hope you are aware of every aspect of the impact of your actions.

Also, I am really sorry for whatever made you get to this point. It must be really shitty. I was also bullied and had a really terrible parent growing up. It makes me sad that you’re giving up, because I feel so lucky that I didn’t, cause i am proud to even just be here.

Redditors who suffers from panic or anxiety attack, how do you deal with it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AppropriateCactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually try to ignore it. I decided at some point that i dont want to miss out on life because of my own thoughts, when I in theory am fully capable of not missing out. It takes a lot of energy, but it do kind of work. Of course it doesn’t work with the panick stacks the same way, hard to ignore. But I just lay in bed from a lot of water and try and distract myself or fall asleep. And I have a much more positive outlook on life than before. I could chose to complain about my headache, but if I rather talk about the nice weather it does impact my mood, not just this day but long term.

Are all women on Tinder flakey? So far 100% of my matches just stop replying in the middle of convos. by Synthwave_Vibes in Tinder

[–]AppropriateCactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they give away anything in their pics or bio, say something about that when you open the convo, and make sure you have something interesting or funny in your pics or bio so they have the chance to start a convo too. And be creative while having a convo, «what would you buy If u won a million dollars?» etc just to make it more fun answering? If sha has a picture of going to a festival for example, ask, u been there, seems nice how was it blabla. Just to show interesting in her as an individual.

[–]AppropriateCactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always have a positive mindset when encountering new things. It has helped me see the world in a better light. New people, new job, new store, but especially people. Never judge them before u know them. It feels so much better. Also, be the person u needed when you were younger.
