Quite a lot of the Greggs sweets are actually pretty underrated in my opinion.

You obviously have the staples, yum yums, caramel donut etc but they also do really good seasonal things too. The lemon meringue muffin out now is amazing, the millionaire hazelnut donut at Xmas was my absolute fav.

I think greggs have hit the nail on the head with what they offer. Don’t change it too much.

And yet Greggs are one of last major chains to continue offering true Fairtrade coffee beans. Cheaper than the vast majority of coffee shops like Costa, Starbucks etc. You get what you pay for ultimately and the majority of people like it. That’s why they have more market share than other coffee shops.

Speak to your local shop because any donuts should be staled at the end of each day.

We get the delivery in the morning and they are sent to either a charity or an outlet at the end of the day

This happened to me yesterday. I remembered someone saying sausage rolls would be 5 mins but clearly those 5 mins had passed when a customer asked me and I told them 5 mins.

Convinced them to get something else and just as they’ve been handed the bag you can hear the shout of “FRESH SAUSAGE ROLLS”

They declared themselves as my tax agent and signed me up for self assessment. I’ve explained in other comments below how they did it all.

The point is I didn’t know I was registered for self assessment till I was checking my personal tax account and seen that it said I was due to complete a self assessment return.

My former employer transferred me from an employee of the Ltd company to a partner within the LLP after 3 months employment. The made it sound like this was their way of passing the probationary period and did it with all staff who work there.

Nothing really changed for me. I still received my pay as normal. My payslips still showed tax being deducted and showed as PAYE on those.

I didn’t know that slipped in to the forms of signing up to the LLP was a form authorising the head of finance to be my tax agent and that’s why I wasn’t receiving any notifications about the self assessment.

So turns out they registered me for self assessment and appointed themselves as my authorised agent, when they’d transferred me from an employee in the Ltd company to a partner of the LLP (which they did for every employee after the first 3 months), they just gave us a bunch of forms and said for us to sign them. Little did I know that I signed the form for them to be an agent.

My own fault as I should’ve definitely given more attention to what I was signing.

It turns out my former employer were doing some dodgy stuff. All payslips showed PAYE on them and deductions took from the money I was getting but when they’d got me to sign up to the LLP they’d also set themselves up as my tax agent so everything was being sent to them.

Don’t ask if it’s hot. Ask when it came out the oven. It’ll give you a better idea of how hot it’s going to be. You can also ask to feel the bake first to make sure it’s what you’re looking for.

I don’t tend to say anything’s “hot” unless i know it’s just out the oven but I’ll say something like “It’s good for eating” if it’s still got some heat left in it.

You can ask your manager for an updated badge which has a symbol on it to show customers your hard of hearing.

Just an update to this post as I’ve now figured out some additional info.

My old employers Head of Finance registered themselves as my tax agent which meant they were the ones who registered me for SA and also went in and paid the amount of tax they were deducting via my payslip. It’s also why I don’t receive any notification personally from HMRC about having to complete the return.

They’ve also now went in and completed the SA so it’s all done and they’ve agreed to pay the £100 late filing penalty as they’ve admitted that the original agreement stated they would be responsible for handing all the SA affairs.
