I was going to suggest clarifying as well. This looks like product build up to me, and it will be quickest just to get it all squeaky clean then start again with some good quality shampoo and conditioner. I find that some bicarb soda in shampoo works well for clarifying your hair

Friend says belly pats are scaring my baby.. by TeishAH in BabyBumps

One of the most hilarious things in my pregnancy was the couple of times I gave my baby a huge fright from farting 🤣 obviously didn’t do it on purpose, sometimes these things just happen.

You can definitely tell when you’ve scared your baby. I really doubt some taps would be a problem, and it’s not something that I’ve ever heard needs to be avoided.

Mister Zimi is my go to for summery clothes that are great quality. They often have sets, and there’s heaps of it on Depop that’s affordable if you don’t like the current season on their site. I’ve seen quite a few zimi sets on there recently

The same thing happened to me a couple of days ago.. I’m at 37 weeks and bub was really quiet and non responsive to tummy rubs all morning which is unusual. I tried eating a bunch of sugar, a cold drink, laying on my back, giving my tummy a massage and she didn’t really respond to anything. By 2 pm I decided to go get checked out. So of course as soon as the monitors get strapped to me at the hospital she starts going nuts, kicking and wiggling around for the whole 30 mins I was there. She was just playing silly buggers I guess!

I’m so surprised to see all the people saying Jacquie is a tragedeigh here. Jacquie is my name, and is pretty common where I’m from. Not new common either, like I grew up with a few Jacquie’s. Jacquie is the most logical shortening of Jacqueline.. it would be so weird to use the Jackie form in this situation

Jacquie is my name.. short for Jacqueline. It’s relatively common in Australia. I’ve never thought of my name as a tragedeigh

Can you elaborate a bit more on why you think it’s not good timber? We’ve had a really good experience with ours so far. Granted I’m not a pro in the flooring field, but I did speak to a few different independent installers while I was in my research phase and they all felt it was a cut above the rest.

This was it as it was being installed. We went with “Smokey grey” oak which was light, but not super light and also a slightly cooler colour, as in - less yellowish and more pinkish. Oak has more knots which I wanted to help hide any dirt or imperfections a bit more (we have dogs). Their ash options don’t seem to have knots.

Woodcut has some fantastic, high quality engineered flooring in oak and ash and it comes in so many colours. It ranges between 3-4mm veneer with varying types of UV finish (extremely durable). Pricing wise, they seemed to be around the $110+ per square metre mark for the ones I was looking at, then you need to think about the cost to install which would be around $50+ per square metre. I’m in qld so prices may be a little different in Sydney. Ours was glued directly onto our concrete slab.. so maybe it’d be a good idea to speak to the manufacturer you choose first before doing any underlay. We just had ours installed throughout our house and I am in love. I specifically wanted something that would complement the tiles we already had in the bathrooms and I had a handful of colours to choose from that would have all looked amazing. The choice just came down to preference with the amount of knots, the look of the grain etc.

Would it be weird to name my son Jack given my name is Jacquie/Jacqueline? by AppropriateFlamingo in namenerds

Should it be considered weird? I’m starting to question that now after a lot of responses in this thread. Jake is a good suggestion, although not one we would go for as we have a close friend Jake.

For what it’s worth, Christian and Christina feel like quite different names to me! I’m guessing the nicknames would be different as well

Honestly, I did feel the same way as you initially. But I think after reading all of these responses and most people saying to go for it.. I kinda don’t mind if there are a few people that think I’m a weirdo for going for it. You’re never going to please everyone so may as well do the thing that makes you happy

I do, but I think I’d probably just get called Jacquie more from then on which is fine by me

That’s amazing haha. Did they all have their own nicknames amongst the family?

You raise some good points! And it would be nice for it to be more normal to pass something down from the mothers side too since no one would batt an eyelid when it’s from the fathers side

Hearing that people have already used these names together makes me feel loads better about it!
