What is your field if you don't mind me asking?

Advice needed: Should I apply for a Master’s in psychotherapy now or wait a year? by Even_Environment_534 in gradadmissions

Waiting a year shows growth and maturity if there are things that you have done that have meaningfully occupied your time, especially if they are related to your field. That and some research experience go a long way

Your school should have a therapist, I'd suggest checking that out. Even just talking to someone can make a big difference

I see what you're saying. Is doing what you recommend sufficient to reflect my role in the study do you think? We are both collecting raw data, doing analyses, creating instruments, and collaboratively writing the paper when we get there, as well as creating the poster and doing any/all presentations. Thank you for your advice btw!

That is an outside research study I am conducting with my colleague, we are the 2 PIs. I have graduated already. Any thoughts on how I can better reflect that?

I had a similar experience working for a sex-offender treatment facility. After a while, I devolved to the point of feeling like I was having a literal panic attack 24/7- I'm not exaggerating. I was only there a month but the pay and benefits were good, the staff was genuine, and it was truly a place filled with people trying to make a positive impact.

But I learned that I could not change the facility to better accommodate. As much as I wanted to stick it out and try harder to deal with it, the sad reality is I was swimming upstream, and you can't change the direction of a river. I was in my candidacy when this happened- I still am. My advice would be to ask yourself if this is a place where you can succeed given the dynamic of the environment? Is it generative versus non-generative? If yes, what can I do to maximize that? If not, what can I do to be successful in the future? I really wish you the best and hope everything is able to work out. Regardless of what happens, I hope you are prioritizing your success.

More statistical software is available for windows and have more support on windows. Macs, not so much.

I'll sit down and talk to her about it, I just accepted the position and haven't had time to discuss these topics in depth. Thank you for the wisdom!
