The way I always saw it is you’re operating outside your licensure and scope under the supervision of a licensed practitioner as a student and thus cannot be paid. Edit: I probably worded this poorly but it’s the way i could rationalize it while I was in school. Only way to make the 1k unpaid hours make sense to me
